Hey Guys & Gals Nice to meet some fellow RCs.I recently got a 1\8 E Revo and I bought a Novak Hv &.5 System for it.Being fairly new to this electric system I am curious how difficult it will be to install.I started on it but it looks like I need to find a gearing ratio that will keep components cool.Anyone crossed this road yet any pictures or suggestions would be GREATLY appriciated. Thanks Lightning1958

Welcome to the addicts boards! I would pick up a temp gun if you don't have one. For the gearing, start with a pinion that's 2-3 teeth smaller than your stock one. This will ensure a lower load on the new electronics for a starting point. What batteries are you gonna run?

Those will do the duty! Keep the motor under 150 degrees and let her rip. My buddies E Maxx, Mamba Monster, with some Losi street tires(slightly larger than stock, but lighter), stock gearing and 2, 3s 5300's has only got to about 120. That's on road, though. Full throttle, shreddin' the tires, but still on pavement. Your gonna love it. I'd still gear low for starters; especially if you rip off road.

120 mph?????

It feels like 120 mph when your driving it. It has so much rip that you can't possibly use all the power. He has a set of 40 series Moabs on some hefty bead locks. I can't remember what rims they are; think they're proline. They have a ton of screws to hold the rings on. Anyways, with those heavy ass tires on it, I swear the chassis twists a good 2-3 inches. It's nasty. Seems that running on 6s is best for just showing off on the pavement. I think I'll go for some good 2s packs when the time comes.
