I am doing some homework and a little research on buying another RC... So far the E-Revo had blown me away and I think its came to a point that I must have one!!! :D

But, I don't want to make a rushed decision just because the E-Revo looks soooo awesome. So I'm asking you the more educated RCers to help me.

I have tried myself to find other electric RCs that would/could be equal or even rival the E-revo... but I'm not sure if any can compair or not. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying the E-Revo is the end all be all of RC Trucks... But I think its in a class of its own in ways. For example I can't find another RC with inboard F1 style shocks (Excluding other Traxxas models).

So I ask all of you is there an RC that could be considered a Rival or Equal to the E-Revo?

Please keep in mind my intent with this RC is almost 100% bashing and I want an Electric RC... and also under $600.

Thanks

No one is ever disappointed with a Revo, either Nitro or electric. Great suspension system, well built for almost anything, and a joy to run.

I personally own all 3 of the revo platform trucks, nitro, big electric, and mini electric and they are most definatly a blast to drive, a piece of cake to work on, parts are readily available. As rolex said above they are a blast to drive and you will not find a better handling rc, (personal opinion)

I love my Slayer, which is built on a Revo 2.5 chassis. The biggest difference is the suspension arms are about a third the length of a revo. Even though it's not a revo, I think it is close enough to say that a revo is a very reliable rig and definitely easy to work on

I own an E-Revo and it is absolutely a great RC. It is a truck that will make a great basher as well as make a fine racer too. Kind of the best of both worlds.

Well! I must thank all of you for bolstering my want and decision in getting an E-Revo. I really have heard nothing but good things about it.

But I'm still curious to what could be the counterpart to the mighty Revos. I guess I'm asking have any of you been bashing or racing agains other RCers with a different make of RC and thought to yourself wow that RC is really close to catching or beating me.... or even just close to the proformance of the Revo? If any of you guys could add some insight into anything like that it would be great.

the "counterpart" of the revo, from my research and what i have read in mags would probably be the Savage, someone correct me if i am wrong.

Edit: Xtreme RC Cars did an article that was titled "120mph shootout" or something like that and they put an ERBE (erevo brushless edition) up against a Savage Flux and the erevo took home the title/crown/trophy whatever you wanna call it

At our on road track last weekend, we had a brushless eRevo running during the warm up laps, and it would dust the 1/10 scale nitros and was really close in speed to the 1/10 scale electric touring sedans. If he had the sway bars installed he could have easily kept up with the sedans.

I also have a Revo 3.3 and 1/16 Revo VXL. Both are an absolute blast. I haven't felt the need to do a lot of upgrades on the mERV because it's a tough little beast out of the box.

a couple of worthwhile upgrades for that little beast are rpm arms all the way around a heat sink for the motor and steel cvds (especially if ur running lipo)

I'd say the Savage Flux would be a counterpart to the ERevo. I'd choose the ERevo since I had the nitro Revo and I'm familiar with how to work on them.

I learned to drive RCs with the Revo and I rarely broke anything on mine, and my driving was bad when I first started. :hehe:
