I just got my son a 1/16 e-revo and it is really awesome. I have been trying to find out what is the CORRECT way to upgrade the batteries/ motor/ speed control/ gears/ axles if I want it to do back flips. I have been getting mixed opinions from my local hobby shops as far as what to do or not to do. Is anyone running a back flipping e-revo and if so what have you change and where did you get the parts? I don't want to over do it if I don't have to, I also have a LST2 that is getting upgrades as well. This is a costly hobby. Thanks for the help.

What brand lipo should I get and what about the cost. I found many on ebay all different brands and sizes. Thanks

Look at allbattery.com. They should have tenergy's that are made for the mini revo. We never looked into lipos because these things are out of control enough on the nimh packs.

I just picked up one of these today. I can tell you that it is insane fast just on one lipo. I just went ahead and wanted to see what it would to on one lipo battery and wow is it quick. My hobby shop shold me a dual lipo setup that was made for the e revo. It is a 2C 7.4V 1600mah 20C Battery. I am running mine with a parallel connector. I haven't tried it with the series connector yet. Was raining here today so I could only run it in the house but holy crap I kicked it in reverse and it will totally do front wheel stands in reverse. Fun little car.

if you run 2 2s lipo's in series you can overheat the ESC and cook it..i'd be careful..i run 2 3s LiPO'S in parallel and i have all the power i need...i put a wheelie bar on it to not do backflips :)

I can only amagine how fast it is with the upgrades. I have been seeing motor change outs on ebay with the esc being changed as well, running on 2 lipos that are 11.1 volts 2200 mah 45-55c. Not sure how it is wired up as far as parallel or in series but is claimed to be the fastest rc car in the world! He makes his own lipo packs and claims them to out last current ones on the market. Says the truck will back flip at 40 mph. These battery choices are to many. I just want the longest lasting fastest running batteries I can get and match that up to the correct ESC and motor. I saw some after market brushless motors available but not sure which brand to go with or what size. I appreciate all the info so far. Any other info will be appreciated.

Do you have the vxl or the brushed version that came out a little while after the vxl? With the brushless system that traxxas includes with the vxl version, the 2 duratrax batteries I mentioned is all the power one could want. 20-40 minute run times, depending on your driving style.
