How dou you put an e clip on the hinge pin? Are there any easy meathods?

Patience. That's the key. I'll usually start it by hand. Then cover it with a thin towel and use pliers to press it the rest of the way on. Takes some practice. But the towel helps keep the clip from flying across the room if the pliers slip. If you have some fine needle nose pliers, they work very well.

Get a small pair of needle nose pliers.
Set the clip so it touches the part its being clipped to. Make sure its lined up with the groove its going into. Place one part of the pliers on the clip and the other on the opposite side of the part its going on to and gently squeeze.

You can also use the end of a flathead screw driver to push the clip on.

Fact:
There are 2 sides to an e-clip. Don't put it on backward.

E-clips are stamped out of a sheet of metal. One side of the clip will have smooth rounded edges and the other side will be sharp on the edges. Place the smooth edge against the moving part.

If you put them on wrong they have a better chance of coming off.

I did not know that! Learn something new everyday. I do know it takes patience to get those things on though. It doesn't take much presure to send one flying across the room!

Isn't that the truth! I have stocked up on as many packs of E clips as I can get my hands on. For that very reason... the one that flies off is always the last one of that size, and it is usually the eclips on my 18T.
