DX3s ???

I just installed a dx3s and found that the telemetry stops displaying the speed/rpm's after it gets about 50-60feet away. is this normal or is there a setting to adjust the range? and also how accurate is the temp sensor? is there a way to calibrate the temp readings with a temp gun? thanks for the help guys.

My DX3S does the same but I have looked through the settings and didn't see anything but assume that it is a bandwidth issue because you can actually get further range if you aren't using the telemetry according to Spektrum support because of the added overhead that the telemetry brings. huh the more ya know btw I am ok with it...

I think it's because the receiver is broadcasting that info back to the TX. It seems about right to me, since I can't see them packing a long range transmitter into that little RX module.

thanks guys, that makes feel better about the upgrade.so should i take the telemetry sensor off? will it help the battery life? or does it have little effect on the batt.?

I think their marketing says its good for 100-200 feet so maybe an antennae relocation would be of some benefit.

I can't see the rx making a noticeable difference on battery life. Even if it did lower the battery life by a few minutes, its worth it IMO to see your operating parameters.

I think that even with no sensors connected, the RX transmits back to the TX because of the way that DSM technology works.
