How is this truck. I am buying this used. It is my first real r/c (gas). It has a
.12 engine in it and it has futaba controller and servo's. Before I buy it I will do a thorough check over and make sure no chassis parts are broken it runs etc. But is this a good beginner truck. O, yeah is 170 canadian a good deal.

Well the I'm assuming your talking about the nitro evader? what .12 is in this truck, what futaba servo's and controller? the truck's a ok begginer from what I've heard,I've never owned one, they retail in the us for something like $249,If the truck's has a really low gallon engine in it and a nice radio system, then i would concider, but a stock radio system and stock engine.I've seen nitro evader's go for under $151.91 USD wich I'm pretty sure is close too 170 canadian $,I would check into everything it has first, but i can't really see paying $150 for a nt evader, now a AE gt or a xxx-nt,that's a differnt story.

these are some other options HPI nitro RS4 2 four wheel drive $250 Is this a street car?, Another nitro evader used very little $250. I really want a truck and I don't have to much money to play with.

The RS4 2 is an older street car and it may be difficult tracking parts down for it. I truly think you can find a RC10GT or XXX-NT, used, for similar money you found these Evaders. The Evader is an OK beginner truck, but they're not overly durable and generally you have to order parts online (versus at your LHS).

If you're looking for a ST, I suggest:
Team Associated RC10GT (2WD)
HPI MT or MT2 (4WD)
Losi XXX-NT (2WD)
HPI Rush
Traxxas Jato (2WD)

Any of those are have greater parts potential at your LHS and the 'net.

Good luck!

thanks that'll narrow my search. What are the prices on any of those new RTR.

Best thing to do is surf sites like Rush R/C, Tower Hobbies, Stormer Hobbies, A-Main Hobbies, R/C Planet and the like. I also STRONLY suggest dropping our own Rush R/C a PM and ask him for pricing. He'll meet, usually beat, anything out there!

Doc, I doubt you'll find a better deal than this: https://www.rcnitrotalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40847

I've dealt with the gentleman and he's absolutely top notch! If I didn't have a similar rig already, I'd snap this thing up!

Consider this when making your decision. This is a very, very good rig and with the hop-ups he's added, it's virtually indestructible!

Bashing buddy of mine has a N. Evader......he is always stripping spur gears in it and snapping a-arms, and he's just running across a parking lot with some dirt here and there.

For all out bashing/racing, I'd go with the RC10GT......very tough truck..........and fast......
