Why does everybody hate them. I am new to the forum and i have a duratrax nitro evader st. I like it a lot. I just want to find out why everyone hates them. and what would you reccomend me getting instead. also have a firebird XL airplane

I dunno but who cares what other people think. If you enjoy it, and it works then keep on truckin'

I wouldnt sweat it man, if it breaks then you should start lookin, but till then dont waste your time or money.

i have 2 duratrax thunder quakes ... i think everyone looks down on them because they are a cheaper truck/car than all the others and they don't flood the market with aftermarket parts ... so people can't spend more money on their rig ....

i like my trucks they have done me well for a long time ... all metal gears ... all metal upper and lower chassis ... 2 speed forward and reverse ... the truck has a few weak points (engine being the biggest) but they were easy remedies !!

but i think the biggest factor is the aftermarket support sux for duratrax products ...

as long as you like it and it treats you well who cares what others think ...

I don't really now much about the duratrax myself never owned one, but if it is working for you just use it, and if you are happy with it let people now. Some say they don't hold up as well as the higher priced units and this maybe. So if you are happy with it then thats all that counts.

The biggest gripe most people have with the Duratrax stuff is quality of manufacture. When I started, Duratrax was often referred to as Dura-Trash. The quality was just that bad. Today, that may have changed. The problem is that enough hobbyists were given the wrong first impression and have not taken the time to go back and try the stuff again that the reputation still hangs around.

If you guys like your Duratrax products, then keep using them and talk them up. Don't be surprised if others bad mouth them and don't take it personal when they do. Just keep talking about the positives that you have found with your Duratrax ride and perhaps you can help turn around a not so good reputation for the company. You never know.
