Hey Guys, I just bought a GP2 and I was hoping somone could help me with it. I bought it RTR and its my first nitro car, I have somhow managed to take it appart and put it back together. But for some reason it never reaches second gear, any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Your 2 speed needs adjustment. It should be stated in the manual on how to adjust.

does anyone else have one of these, if so, what kinds of mod's can i do to it?

I tried the manual, and I doubt that it works, I think its damaged, I even took it to the local hoby shop to see if they could find out whats wrong with it, but they could not figure it out. If you think there is a way you can help me, I would be more than glad to post pictures...

.....post your pics, there's plenty of knowledge here to help, but IMHO unless you forgot a piece on reinstallation or installed something backwards, it should just be engagement adjustment. in anycase, post away... and good luck

Ok, I will take the pics, just let me know what you want to see. I will take general pictures and post in a few.

Also another Question: I seem to have lost my radio crystal (74 AM) and bought another set of crystals (27 AM) but for some reason it does not work. Any ideas on why?

Oh yeah and thanks a lot for the help, for all of you who are helping me. :)

well,

pics of the 2-speed assembly would probably be best to start (also, some unassembled if you can). About the Tx crystals....you stated the reason in your question...you bought 27mhz crystals for your 74mhz radio...you have to stay within your "bandwidth"

wow, well there goes the idea of any crystal would work once it is a pair....did not know that thanks...

I finally got a chance to post some pics... so here they are... when I get a chance I will take it appart and post more pics. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Ok cool,

Nothing's outrageously out of place. That's a good thing. Until you get it apart you won't really know but when you do, I'd say to first check that you have the parts on the right way. I'm not trying to insult you, it's just VEEERY easy to mix the direction up and install the parts backwards. Check out the dogbone assembly that engages the 2nd gear. It's most likely backwards....that would cause a constant slip even when at the right RPMs. Good luck with it, hope it turns out good.

See but thats just the thing, I bought this car as a RTR car, I did not assemble it or anything. The only thing that I have really done, Is take it appart (all the big pieces) and cleaned the frame. But I will dissable the engine as much as I can, and then post pics. Thanks again buddy.

well....

if you didn't take apart the two speed and it worked before your cleaning, I'd say now would be the time to take it apart.

I think i need to purchase new crystals for my car, becuase everytime i turn on the car I get unwanted feedback, and the crystals are in bad shape. What would be in my "Bandwidth"?
