Towerhobbies has em that cheap! Very tempting.

Its just another savage wannabe! Its a upgraded warhead really.

And the engines overheat on the first tank and die most of the time.

Its really a hit or miss with the RT-X 27 :\

My Warhead has been good to me thus far. It's a PITA to understand some of the backwards assembly they did on it...but once you get it...it's still pretty easy to work on. I got a local guy with another Warhead for $50 that I may pick up. $199 you can't really go wrong! I mean I paid $150 for my Warhead used. lol I think the RTX-27 has the Racing engine on it as well...upgrade from the Warhead.

I like the layout of the truck. I hate the engine, I have dealt with one before in a buggy. Very poor performance for a .27.
This would be something I'd drop a bump start .28 race mill in just to see what it can do.

Most of the design on the truck isn't too bad. The worst is the engine placement. Makes it more difficult to remove. The linkage is snaked around a bit too. I can't say anything for durability yet as I have yet ot run my warhead.

From their website, the engine appears the same. It does have 3 year warranty and all the plastic has 1 year free replacement. The RTX also has larger hubs and better tires on it. There are lot of suspenion adjustments possible which looks good to me.

For $199, if you got the money I don't think it would be too bad. I'll probably end up near $160-$170 in my Warhead by the time I'm done.

I just figured it with a discount code and free shipping due to my tower membership.
174.99 to my door! Self control....slipping!

I just pop out the 4 engine bolts and remove the fuel tank to get the engine off the Warhead. Also need to remove the carb, but once that is done, just rotate the motor towards where the fuel tank used to be and you can slip it out from under the driveline without too much hassle. First time took me 3 hours....now I can remove the mill in less than 10 minutes. So just a matter of playing with it.

The RTX-27 also has the CS motor on it...not the crappy wimpy little CX that the Warhead and Warhead EVO have. The CS is supposed to have like 2X or more HP, but same spotty tuning from what I have read. I tuned mine fairly easily, but have read horror stories about tuning those Super Tigre motors. Could just be impatient users...not 100% sure. I think this particular truck just needs someone with patience to learn it's oddities. I find mine easy to work on, and have yet to screw anything up too badly even being a n00b here. Just a few loose bolts that bit me in the ass before I threadlocked em all.

I'm tempted to grab an RTX myself actually....but I have too much crap in my workshop at the moment.

To heck with self control - BUY IT!

The pull start made it more difficult due to it being threaded through the the vp.

Ahh yes. I have the KwikPit on mine. Pull Start would make it hell. lol Well you have a KiwkPit setup in the EVO Upgrade kit. Hop to it! lol

Hey Scrogg. If you want a Warhead to fool around with, let me know. I just found one locally for $60 that I'm supposed to pickup tonight. My plan was to check it all out and list it for sale for $75. I'll have more details and pics on it tonight.

Nah...that's called a keyboard typo! LMAO $50 is what he's asking ;-) Says it runs but needs a new pull starter. I have 2 new KwikPits sitting at home.....so that's an easy fix. I think he said one of the turnbuckles was broken too. He should be here within the hour so we shall see. Has 2 bodies with it too....which works out since my Yellow Warhead body is beat up pretty bad.

I was gonna buy it for a parts truck until he sent me pics and I realized it was 99% complete. lol No brainer...make it run and sell it.

..and DAMN YOU NC for ruining my quick 10 spot attempt....

He just left. Looks like it's complete, and has a stripped spur gear. Radio came with it too...and 2 bodies. It needs a MASSIVE cleaning though. Friggin cat hair stuck all over it. lol We'll see if it fires up when I get home, but pull started/flywheel feels like good compression.

Bah. I'm starting to think I'm a moron for buying em all! Hard to pass em up though! lol I need to trade some of these for a nice Brushless Buggy/truggy

Must be nice to keep finding r/cs that cheap and even nicer that you can buy them all !

So did ya do it yet Scrogg? Huh? Did Ya did ya?
Nah, self control got me. My 1:1 car is due for a timing belt and some front brakes.
I already have a Savage that collects more dust than it should.
I just installed a new engine and it's freaking pouring rain!
Scrogg's days off=Rain for the last 6 months!
Hell, they are predicting tornados and snow for the southeast this weekend!

The Warhead LIVES! lol A little elbow grease, a glow plug, and a few adjustments and she fired right up on the workbench. Motor seems pretty tight too. Wondering if this thing ever got any real use on it!

So has anyone jumped on the RT-X-27 yet ?

I've been reading, and it seemed at first there were a lot of negative comments, but now I am reading more positives. I also saw it recently received a basher award from some other site ?

I'm just getting into electrics with an e-maxx, but c'mon for under $200 shipped, can it really be that bad ?

Is there anywhere else to get parts other than DTX or tower ? I don't think my local hobby shops have parts for them & I'd hate to have to wait for parts very long.

Several eBay hobby shops sell the parts. For the price, it looks like a deal to me but I still haven't driven one.
