Did anyone notice that in the Dec RCCARACTION mag that in the top 100 products in the description of this truck it says it has a new .17 mill made by OS. did I read this wrong is it a typo. OS making a mill for Duratrash. I mean these regular evade is just a lot of losi rip off stuff like the shocks and the suspension setup. Anyway what do you think. DT site says nothing aobut hwo makes the mill. X

Yes, I also saw that, would be interested in knowing more about that mill

i researched this. yes, the engine is MANUFACTURED by OS. However, the engine is not designed by them, only made by their many manufacturing plants in japan. psh, a Duracrap with a OS engine, yea right.

Duratrax .18

It's not as odd as you might think. Duratrax seems to have a good relationship with Great Planes, which is the U.S. distributor for O.S. Duratrax has also included Futaba radios in their kits, which are also distributed through Great Planes. Of course, there is a big difference in a low end AM radio and the quality of the upper end OS engines. Personally, I'm skeptical of the quality of the engine. I can't see it being a full quality O.S. engine and being included with a ready to run. Besides, Duratrax is not know for making the finest quality kits.

Here is a link to the engine on Tower: Duratrax 18 The carb and pullstart appear to be of O.S. design. I noticed that this engine doesn't use the clinch screw to secure the carb. This is a feature that is found on all the current O.S. engines.
