  1. Bashing
Ok,

I have been looking around now for a while thinking about ditching the LSP. The LSP handles amazing, but doesn't hold up to bashing how I'd hoped. I have had a savage before, and am not interested in getting one again right now, cause they can not turn worth poop. The cam-type servo saver helps...but still.

I am looking for the best mix of durability/handling. I'd like it to be fast but thats not my main concern right now. I will be mainly running with my dads MP777 Special 1 which should be fast enough haha, but buggies aren't suited to backflips, boulders, dirt pits...ya know whatever I may come across. Basically, I am interested in a bashing only truck that won't break and can turn decently in stock form. Do you guys think a Revo fits this description? From what I have read it seems to be.

Lemme know what you guys think, thanks.

it fits... mind you, it will break, but its easy to fix. thats why its a hobby though, and not just a toy.

I understand that it'll break, but with the LSP I never stopped it cause I was done...it was always cause it broke. Even if it was somethin little, it just always broke. I'm just gunna keep it stock for when I want that extra ground clearance. my buggy will be the main toy :)

The REVO is fine. The overall design was for those that do wish to race it BUT for a basher, it holds it's own. It turns very well. Lower the stance, reset the alignment and put the included stiffer springs and it will do well.

You should see how many cartwheels I have put mine through and it still walked away. My first impression with the revo was "damn a tracks ass" all because I have seen what the T-maxx has to have done to get it almost bullit proof. The complete opposite is true for the Revo.

The engine is on the weak side but what do you expect from a RTR? An engine upgrade is almost always the first thing done on this truck. My first thing changed was the radio .... GARBAGE! Next is the engine and then maybe the gears (close ratio or wide ratio ... still deciding).

You will be pleasantly surprised by the Revo. Parts are everywhere and most of all, stock configuration is still good. Road worthy, track worthy, bash worthy ... it's very versatile.

I can honestly say that if I didn't win it in the lottery, I wouldn't own one. BUT now that I own one, I can make an honest comment on it and suggest it to anyone that wants a good mixture of race inspired design and bashing durability. Others may state otherwise but I for one am smiling when I do take it out.

All that stated from someone that used to run on-roads and nothing else ... OMG, what am I turning in to! LOL

i bought a revo and i have to say wow they are like a rock when it comes to bashing but the only down fall is the pivot balls if you hit something hard enough they will pop off and they go right back on but the are very durrable and they run with the best of them in racing too i race mine every weekend and only have broken one lower a arm and that was thanx to another racer(who t-boned me) but thats just my 2 cents

would you guys still say that a savage or mgt is tougher than a revo tho?

Well Diver, you convinced me. Have you ever driven a truggy? Like a LSP? I would like to know how it handles compared to that. My LSP handles unbelievably, but it just can't take any abuse.

well i also have a lsp pro and only broke the front lower a arm holder thanx to a pole that jumped out infront of me during a race but i think the revo stock doesn't handle as good as the lsp handles stock but just again my 2 cents

2 different classes of trucks. Can't really compare. For an MT, the Revo handles very well.

the Revo needs a lighter touch on the steering....it's got that super short wheel base that's crazy when you put some power in it.....but the LSP definately stick lines on the track a lot easier than a revo......the Revo will just have that 2 wheel snap out of the hole that a truggy will never have since it's wheels all stay on the ground.......

I know that a Revo won't handle like an LSP. The LSP is beyond any R/C I have had as far as handling. But its no run if it breaks everytime I go out. Is the Revo close to the savage's durability?

Mine seems to be indestructable. I think some members have some video of me trashing the hell out of mine to prove it. It can really take a beating and keep on going. Nothing like the T-Maxx. I really need to dust it off and see if the engine still runs. It has been like 9 months since I used it. I think I miss it. :smoke:

AC, a few words. Search for that video of that (most likely stoned) guy and his girlfriend who were just absolutely flogging the pooh out of a stock Revo at a concrete public skate park. Then watch all the Revo videos of that guy that posts at least one new one a week, the guy jumping off of the top of a sand pit. I have yet to see his Revo quit during a day of bashing. Yeah, it's not stock, but it's also not race prepped either. I suspect he has the usual basher upgrades such as skid plates, shock ends, RPM arms and bigger motor, but that appears to be it.

I would recamend a revo for bashing or racing.I use to bash mine almost every day.I have done backflips and even jumped a car.Not one plastic part has broken.I have recenty been tunning it for the track and now it handles great.I have ran it about 4 hours on the track now and it has proven to be a tough truck.I am not a great drive so i hit the wall alot but the revo comes away always running strong.I would recament a 1/8th scale wing right away.It protecs alot and helps when you land a jump wrong. You can't go wrong if you buy a revo.Heres a car jump pic.

Ok I will be getting a Revo. I just need someone to buy a Wasp .28 powered LSP :) Anyone?

I have a Revo that I beat the crap out of! I hit a 40 foot double on my motocross track that I come up short on all the time with it. The only problem I have had is a few broken control arms and a couple rear toe links! Very easily replaced. Just remember to keep the wheel nuts tight on a revo when bashing or racing because of the plastic hubs. I recommend investing in some aluminum ones.

You can't go wrong with a Revo!

Sounds good ragdoll.

What do you guys suggest my first upgrades would be? I am thinking little things for durability now. Engine and possibly radio later for christmas or something. I have some cash to put in the Revo not much tho. I will look into the hubs ragdoll.

I hear shock ends are a must. Are RPM arms needed right away? Or at all? What else should I look into?

Thanks.
