Ok I just got a maxx truck w/o reverse so I was wanting to do a dual steering servo setup just cause I can!!! I have searched the forum, but can't find anything on here. Has anyone here tried this??? If so do you have pic or some good tips or hints??? Thanks for any input!!!

I have seen alot of T-Maxx rock crawlers with dual steering servos I dont know if there a kit or just a mod you have to make your self.

(1) If he doesn't have the reverse servo there should be a hole left in the chassis. Another servo mounted next to, and inverted, like steering servo might be able to be linked together so two servos are pushing the same drag link. End point adjustment and linkage adjustment would be critical so the servos wouldn't fight each other.

(2) The other option would be to move the receiver box and cut a hole for a second steering servo. (Like the Revo). End point adjustment and linkage adjustment would be less critical. Each front wheel would have its own servo and they'd need to be trued up for tracking and turning.

The above ideas would require some good parts and/or chassis machine work. Got a mill?

I would just buy an HS5645mg steering servo.

And what about servo savers? If you don't use the stock Traxxas servos with built-in servo savers then option one could allow one Pro-Line steering kit. If you went for option two with non-stock Traxxas servos... well.. I don't wanna think about engineering that...

Thanks. I don't have a mill, but I have a DREMEL :) I am not sure I am going to see if I can get two 2055s first this might be a future project thanks for the input though!

if you really want the steering to be bulletproof..look at how much money you will spend to do all this and then realize buying a JR8611 servo w/ 260in torque and a proline steering kit would have done the same thing and dropped right in AND saved weight if you are watching that sort of thing...

I didn't realize this was one of my old maxxes he's tallking about....did you get the mill yet maxxer?

have you ever used an airtronics 958? I used mine all last season w/no problems. I might try this jr next time tho.

Would digital servos work in a non digital radio? I'm gonna be getting the JR XS3 Pro, and was wondering if that would work.

yeah they work...I beleive it's AM they act funny in....Not 100% sure on that...you're probably thinking about the PCM receivers will only work w/ digital servos...but I use the Futaba 3pm w/ the JR and Futaba digitals and they work great.....until my throttle servo breaks....I have the worst luck w/ throttle servos....

Yeah I got the mill I love it I will probably get one of the ACNCM heads for it. One of the Monster heads that they make for them!!! I haven't finished the maxx yet I haven't had time to. I will probably do it either tonight or tomorrow.

that big one on there does pretty good too....keep the stock one for winter running....just shave 2 fins off and it's perfect for the 20-40deg temps
