well it seems everybody that does a bashing maxx as a dual tank now, so i killed some time and set one up on my maxx. it looks pretty sweet and unique rightnow but at the rate people are doing it, it may be the number1 hopup lol. i used fuel splitters (T shaped) to fork the exhaust backpressure line and i split in coming from the carb to the 2 tanks.
ill get pics soon

it looks so cool!

Where's the pics? I'd like to see the setup. Anything like what I've seen on a few savages?

I believe MaxxTrooper has duel tanks on his Maxx, check his gallery. I put duels on mine just to set it up that way, but I took it off. I got the idea from MaxxTrooper

here is pic of my sportmaxx with dual gas tanks and if u do a search, u can find other threads on the dual gas tanks and how to set it up.

sorry for the lack of pics,
camera software not cooperating...

maxxtrooper, they way you have your fuel line routed, does that work well? it looks liek the engine would run extreemly lean after the first tank whent dry, i used t-splitters on mine so that i had backpresser lines going to both tanks and 2 gas lines merged into one line and then into the carb, filter in line.

ahh
pics soon i promise..

noooo. the tank in the front keeps refilling the tank closer to the engine, so it never runs lean. the way u did it is too complicated.

So busted! lol

As for the dual tanks - why do you guys run dual tanks? Is it for just the added run time? I really dont get it. Unless you have 2 mills. I just can't do that to my mills. I let them cool down between tanks without fail. I dont like running back to back tanks for fear of extra wear and tear.

Do you think I'm going overkill with the cooling?

Hell, if not, I may consider dual tanks on my Savage. Granted, I would drop to smaller tanks for a more reliable fuel mixture throughout.

i just did it just to be different and I'm a lazy :censored: and i had a old TRX .15 Pro in it so i didnt care, now i got a brand new OS .15 CV-X that needs to be broken in, so for now i will only use 1 tank.

as for the savage i have heard about the engine running lean after a half a tank. i have heard of people keeping the big tank, but putting a small like 50cc tank after the big fuel tank but before the carb, just to keep the engine from running lean. Also i have heard of some type of valve that is used on planes that would help with the pressure or whatever.

i remember when i had my TRAXXAS Nitro Stampede's... 1 had dual gas tanks and the other had a Savage fuel tank... i was the first for both..

Ok, bang, you got me... Or maybe I was just being my sarcastic self. Hmmm, could be either.

I seen that mod on the Savage too. I may just have to give it a shot and see how well it really works. I think I will use the 2 smaller tanks. Maybe the OFNA tank on the side and an airplane tank in the rear of the shocktower. The thoughts.......

El - that was funny man. Come on, admit it was funny!

i put the dual tanks on my maxx mainly cuz i had an extra tank and got bored wishing i had some clutch shoes...ta da dual tanks it works pretty good tho, didnt change the tune of the engine. the only problem is that one tank drains faster than the ohter, i couldnt get lines the same length b/c of lack of fuel tubing at the time...
