Hey guys, if this is in the wrong area please move it to the proper place. First off I have been having trouble with the engine in my buggy not running good. The compression one time hot is good, next tank it is like the bore is worn out,Super easy to pull.

Also I have read posts of how it is a good idea to pull down a new engine to check for manufacturing screwups. So I broke it down and will post some photos of this OS clone if you are interested.

Looks pretty good inside to me, sleeve beveled at the bottom,
booster port and piston. No ported crank though.

Also if someone would be so kind as to tell me how far the piston should slide into the sleeve before it gets tight.I have used the search and got like 40 pages back. So just a quickie answer is all I need. Has 1/2 gallon of Duratrax Red alert 10% in it so far.
Thanks again Guys.

The piston and sleeve of a new engine will start to pinch at about 1/8 of a turn of the shaft from the top of the stroke. The piston should travel almost to the top of the sleeve if not all the way to the top on just about all engines.

Thanks Sky, It goes easy all the way up until the last 3/16 before the top edge of the sleeve. i am just paranoid I guess cause it doesn't havee rings and I am used to that style.
