Hello again. Had my Savage XL out for a bash at a local BMX playground some kids made in an unfinished residential place.

Anyways, grinning from ear to ear seeing this beast fly through the air only to land on all fours with a slight swooosh!

What are you guys doing to drop the weight on your savages? What's the most common parts to replace..?

thanks

cf tvp's may help, and lighter wheels and tires. there isnt a whole lot on the savage you can lighten without making it weaker.

Carbon TVP's and arms would do. I wouldn't recommend the arms though because they can break easily.

Tires are the biggest factor. Go to a low profile truggy tire and you will knock off over a pound of weight. it will make a massive difference. you'll need to regear to keep the shift points the same. 17/47 gearing works very well with a Savage with race tires and a 3 speed.
Aset of M2 Crimefighter or Bowtie LPR's would be a good choice. The AKA Citiblocks in medium compound are a better choice. These tires work well in almost any kind of dirt.

Sorry, can't help you with this one. I would be the LAST person to help with making a Savage lighter. :hehe:

Your's gets lighter when you dust it right? Oh wait, no dust in an operating room.:hehe:

had a set of LPRs in my hand the other day but my LHS didn't have a set of 4.

Losi makes a 1/8 truggy tire that looked like it might fit. I didn't get a name, but they were premounted and came in a black box.
