yesterday!!!

LHS said that my buddy and I will be the first people in Raleigh, NC with the 3.3s.....I GUESS THERES NO TURNING BACK NOW :OMG:

no release date yet...

I'm hoping it comes in by the end of march..

the shop ordered from traxxas, horizon, and a couple other distributors...

i stopped in at hobbytown usa yesterday and they had 4 Tmaxx 3.3 and 3 savage X's god i wish i had about a grand to splurge i would have came home with 1 of each

why do that when you can wait a couple weeks and get a better truck than both of those...

I've never been a fan of savages...so i guess i am biased

better truck as in?
i am not a big fan of the tmaxx to be honest ,too much to do to them to make a excellent basher and not break but the 3.3 looks sweet !!

well... i had a 2.5 maxx about a year or so ago....put SO MUCH money into that thing...and it still broke on me regularly...

i got out of the hobby for a while, but now that this new revo is coming out, i figured id go ahead and get the car i wanted originally...

i sure hope this revo can stand up to more abuse than the t-maxx did....

also...i know its a bit early to even worry about this...but from reading on here...the traxxas reccomended break-in routine is not the best route to go...
I've heard of a method where you just let the engine idle for a few tanks...
what would be the best way to break-in the 3.3 when i get it?

thanks for the help guys

well i went into the lhs today and talked to the owner about my revo 3.3 and he said the date i should have it is april 1st to the 5th and then i should have all of my other stuff i orderd for it also (center diff, rear brakes, linkage, single steering arm,23mm hubs, tires and wheels, trinity pipe and a few other secrets)but he also stated i should be the first one in wisconsin to have a revo 3.3 but i think he tells everyone that for better buisness but i hope i get mine soon

Here's a link for a method called the heat cycling method. Guys at RCU magazine swear by it. I'm going to try it on my next break in.

And you dont like Savages why?? Savage is gonna be your toughest truck on the market hands down.

:fro:

well..several reasons...i can get parts easier for the revo at my LHS...
the revo handles much better...and will be faster with the 3.3
i hate rotostarts...i put one on my t-maxx and took it off an hour later
i know theres other reasons i didnt wanna go for a savage...mainly stuff like the way it looks and trivial crap like that...but still..if I'm gonna drop this much money...i might as well get something i know i want...and I've wanted a revo forever..

Maxx, i agree with ya 100%...I'm not a big fan of the bandwagon Savages either. I've seen all 4 of them and all i can say is..same junk truck, bigger mill each time is the only difference.
I hear guys say they are so tough, but a young teen down the street has a limited and has had it in the LHS to have parts replaced, trouble with it staying tuned, ect, ect. more than hes gotten to run it.
I had the limited edition pre-paid when they were released on the market..in the mean time another guy i met up with had just gotten his and broke it in...i checked it out from head to toe...he even let me take it for a spin.....i was so let down by the hype of this truck that when mine can in the mail i didnt even open the box and sold it 2 days later and broke even on cash.
It would take at least $1k to make that truck sweet IMO....no thanks!! The stock out of the box Savy is a waste on money to me.

I've owned t-maxx's in the past and still have my old pro .15 that i gave to my son..its an OK truck, better than most for its time.....but I'm truthfully not a very big fan of them either(but would take it over a Savage)...Bought my son a Revo for this past x-mas.....light years ahead of the other trucks on the market..and IMO still is. I've now put my deposit down on a 3.3 Revo and am looking forward to it since i know the Revo very well and have been nothing but 100% pleased with it. All the trucks on the market are either copies of another brands ideas..there either the TVP frame style or just buggy style frames with bigger tires on them to make them MT's. The revo is different and it shows on the track and for those guys like me that just like to backyard bash and have fun.
Most MT's throw bigger mills in them each new release hoping to capture a following...thats why the Savy's are popular..lots of hop-up parts and a BB mill...but they still can't compete with a TRX Revo on all levels and to me its still the best MT on the market...and will be until Traxxas designs a new style truck in the future.

Dont get me wrong though, i have the big over-sized truck with high HP...but its just a fun truck that just gets a lot of attention when i break it out.....plus its fun to pull it out after listening to those Savy guys talk about how huge their trucks are...for some reason their trucks dont seen that big compared to a bigger 1/8 scale MT...but they sure get a kick out of comparing their truck to 1/10 scales MT's and thinking theirs is the biggest baddest on the road.....lol....if not for anything else my Genesis is fun for just being monsterous!!...and it sounds like a true BB mill should.

Anyway, good luck with your Revo 3.3 when you get it...i know i'll have a blast with mine.
