Turns out the red dot is a bit much even for a 3.3 driveline. Rear diff is gone and the trans has issues...going to upgrade things I guess. Gonna go steel spur, Robinson racing? Steel trans gears and build beefier diffs, who makes a good steel gear trans set and tougher diff assembly's without breaking the bank?

I have yet to do so but everyone says the Emaxx diffs work great for an upgraded Tmaxx. I use the Robinson spur and have never had an issue with it. I still have a stock 2.5 tranny with a FOC kit and havent run into any gear issues with it yet so I havent had a reason to upgrade

Yeh go for a pair of e maxx diffs and I'm sure I saw a set of robinson racing tranny gears for bout $80
I'm just about to put the diffs in mine tonight then ill see bout the gears
Make sure your slipper is adjusted properly,I've had a .28 in my maxx done bout a gallon and havent had an issue with the trans

Are the emaxx/erevo diffs the same? I'm running revo diffs now but they're not "e".

The emaxx diffs are way stronger than the tmaxx diffs, all the e maxx diff parts fit in the tmaxx diff case.

Awesome, so emaxx diffs it is.

Robinson racing has their new Gen3 slipper and spur...think I'll give that a try lol

Robinson also has complete gear sets...$122, so that's a good route. Gotta decide on standard or wide ratio...pros/cons?

8002 All Steel Forwad-Only Gear Kit - Standard Ratio (13x17). 39 Tooth 2nd Gear. $122.50
8007 All Steel Forwad-Only Gear Kit - Wide Ratio (13x18). 38 Tooth 2nd Gear. $122.50

I have a 2.5 trans with standard rrp gears installed that I would sell for 140.00 if your interested.

Thanks but my trans has about 6 tanks on it and I've got another brand new 3.3 trans sitting on the bench so I'll just do a gear kit.

Needs to be a emaxx brushless diff thats the 1 with the I bar between the spider gears
I would do steel spur/cb then see if you need trans gears

Yup just ordered a pair. I'm going to get the rr spur and slipper...trans is binding/chattering so it needs gears, might as well do it once.

If you want more top end speed go with the wide, the best way for me to describe standard ratio is to think of it as your cars gear,s standard gears is the same as your cars gears, close ratio gears will shift very close to the same rpm from 1rst to 2nd with a small drop in rpm's.

Go for wide ratio close ratio really limits your top speed which is good for the track but not as much fun when bashing

Go wide ratio. Looks awesome when running along and hits second gear then wheels lift up lol. Does with a Picco .26 Max.

You have tons of power with the Red Dot. I'd go Wide Ratio, largest CB smallest spur.

This is what I have fitted. Along with full Robinson Gear Set, Losi LST XXL front/rear Diffs. Losi centre steel centre drive shafts and Losi Drive Shafts to the wheels. I don't come home broken anymore haha.

Looks like wide it is.

Robinson's new gen 3 slipper has a 58t spur which is the same I'm running along with a 22t cb...just ordered a 24t cb so hopefully I'll stretch out the gearing a bit. Seems like the ol red dot hits top end real quick.
