RC Driving Style
Hi ... I am pretty new to this but I ahve been watching some awesome videos on drifting ... what do I need to 'drift'?

Thanks!! :D

If you get any electric on-roader, you will also need some drift tires. Stick with motors from 17-23 turn (From what I hear). I run a Mamba in mine so it's pretty hard to get used to. I definitely recommend a TT01. I have one and it's great for drifting at a low price. Check out my thread. It's almost drift-ready, just needs electronics and tires. You can also get Cam's E10 for $100.

HPI makes some really nice stuff. One of the better big companies IMO. I've had about 4 HPI vehicles and 3 of them have been the most durable RC's out of the 35 or so that I've owned, which says a lot.

^yeah that. I just slap some drift tires on my rs4 nitro 3 and it already goes sideways.

You should use ABS. More grip, more control, but still has slide. Also is less expensive than the company ones. Ebay ChokuWingStar drift tires, they are the best.

PVC pipe is basically for slippery only. No grip, all sliding. I don't recommend it if you have a powerful motor (I run a 5700kv Sidewinder).

You gotta try it! I know most people say it's only fun at tracks, but man, in the driveway and garage, drifting is the best!

BTW: If you want to get into drifting, check out my TT01 thread in the FS section :D.
