Being only 16 there is no possible way to go to any other states to bash, so RS4Drifter and I were maybe thinking about hosting a bash in Alabama. We are like 20 minutes from Tennessee or so. Drifter is building a track beside his house, our LHS is building a track. We live in a city/country kinda place where on and off road can be run almost anywhere but we have some some great places to bash. Oh yeah plenty of dirt quarry pits. I was thinking about haveing a little cook out or something of the sort to start things off. Maybe around mid may or something like that. I was wondering if anyone would actually attend. I know we got alot of people in the town really in to the hobby, alot of people in neighboring cities who are members here a RCNT. Anyone have any suggestions also?

Never been to Alabama. I might consider it. As was said in Wayne's world, "Make the plans and they shall come!"

Do some research on prices and get some tentative dates. Keep us posted.

Alright, glad to see someone got the ball rolling! I've never really done this before. What details does everyone want. I was waiting on more people to get a say in before setting a date. Not ot mention this is AL. Thigns are alot cheaper here than in other cities, lol. For all you cancer stick addicts out there , they are like $3.10 a pack or something here for Marlbro(SP?) I'm not to sue, I dont smoke. Anyway just let me know all the details I should gather and I'll get them.

It's MARLBORO, and at $3.10/pack ... I'm there!:smoke: It's $6 here in NYC.

Ok, here's what you should look for, for the bash.
1. Hotel prices.
2. closest hobby shop
3. Other things to do for those with wives and/or kids.
4. Hot spots for the guys to do at night after the r/c's are put away.
5. Avg car rental prices (weekend rates may differ) for those flying in.
6. Airports in the area
That's just what I could think of at the moment.

Well, the average price for a hotel down here, the regular nice hotels are between $50 and $75 a night. You can still go cheap and cheaper down to like $17.99 a night for some not to good ones. As far as the wife and kids go. We've got bowling alleys, the mall, a skating rink, movie theaters, a lot of small local bands play emo, punk, hardcore, etc., stuff like that, a FREE skate park, plenty of base ball, soccer fields, and other stuff like that. Plenty of places to fish, we have one of the biggest locks(one side of the dam to the other) with a big tour that I thought was pretty cool, where you go down into the dam and what not and see all the turbines. We live right on the Tennessee river which is fun to ride Jet Skies and go parasailing.Community centers with games and pool tables and such. For the children quite young we have Chucky Cheese. Not sure if your town has it but it is a free admission place where u can buy pizza, place games, play place and such. As for the guys, we have pool halls, any body up for poker?,clubs, got some all right street races, and the legal drag strip, we got a few strip clubs not to far away, lol(I'm growing a beard before then and if they ask I'm a midget.) The LHS is right smack in the middle of everything. 10 minutes from a hardcorest bashing area. 10 minutes form my cousins future track, the LHS is supposed to be building a track across the street from them aswell. As far as renting cars I know you can rent a U-Haul for 29.99 a day, lol. Nah, but average price for a car is between $40 to 75 dollars a day depending on choice of car. If you think of anythign else let me know.

Okay, I was thinking spring break (March 21 - 29) or somewhere around the last of may (May 28 - 31) or the first of July adn you could stay for our Fourth of July celebration. Since we live right on the river, they hold a huge party with stuff for everyone to do on the river, 4 F-16s fly over to start things off and then they have a big fire works celebration in the middle of the water. There is a motel(Homestead Inn) ontop of the hill onlooking the celebration, everyeon could stay there and hang out buy the pool or something like that, I could use some R&R. Oh yeah not sure about your state laws, but random people can just buy fire works here and shoot them almost anywhere they want. I need as much input as possible. **Cig Price Updat**$3.10 a pack**22 Dollars a carton**

Our neighborning city (10 minutes away) has a small air port. Not sure how much help it will be to anyone. Muscle Shoals Airport. Part of the Tri-Cities area where all three cities are 5 ot 10 minutes from each other.

if you are going to fly in you will have to fly to huntsville international ariport. (muscle shoals is more like ultralites and junk, no jetliners really) I'm in huntsville and plan on attending this bashfest or what-have-you

maybe this should be stationed out of huntsville, bigger city, 1 really good hobbshop and a hobbytown. plethora of places to drive, i have some connections and can get us pavillions and soccer feilds, baseball fields, and football feilds as well. behind one of the baseball feilds is a huge pile of dirt that has been there for 3-4 years and it has some weeds on it but people take their real trucks and go mudding back there and it stays dirt not weeds, we might have to pack the huge clumps and ruts down but it wuold be a great makeshift track
r/c hobbies (the good hobbyshop) is in the process of re modeling and their track is torn up for rebuilding, i dont know if it will be ready for us in time.

Bama sounds good to me. Birmingham is only 4 1/2 hours from here so that would be great. March is a little soon, May or July might be better. Just let us know when and where.

If you Bama guys ever get the chance to travel much you should come to Jackson, TN and race with us. We always have a good time.

Razorback we are even closer than Huntsville. We are in Florence. Top Left corner. So knock 2 hours off that drive to the bash. How is the Fourth Of July thing sound to everyone, or would that be in the way of other more personal plans. But like I said the 4th is a nic ebig party down here and the hotel I'm talking about ontop of the hill has a radio station come down and host a lil party downt here too!

If I get it on a weekend that you are able to come, will you or are you still debating. PM me or I'm me on AIM(ImOnFireGetHelp) let me know something about those dates.

Well the thing is that I will be attending the Virginia bash which is scheduled to be around end of May - early June. I will also be attending the Buffalo bash which is to be around August? Regardless of when those 2 are, I commited mself to those already. April is out because I will be swamped with work since I will be the only one runing the family business. July is a big question ... anything other than that I'm open. Early Fall is a good time since it's still relatively warm.
