well i converted a .15 to all 3.3 specs except for the 2.5 today i took it out first time got it warmed up then up and down the street full throttle runs awsome them as i turn around only power to front wheels i blew out a 3.3 half shaft that ez?? maybe a defective part?? any one got any to sell??

It's not defective; the 3.3 parts are pretty easy to break. I know from experience. :\ You'll need metal center shafts. The axles are pretty solid, so there's no need to upgrade those. (I never had problems even with a .26 in there)

just weird I'm thinking dang a little great running 2.5 not r can break a half shaft.!! its a full 3.3 truck only the lil' 2.5 !!! does anyone know a part number for just the center half shafts i should get ??

Personally I would recommend the ones Traxxas makes; I had those on my Maxx for a few months before I sold it and never had any problems. A lot of people recommended the MIP ones, but I found that the uncovered joints were a constant problem, versus a booted version that keeps out sand and dirt.

they say the 3.3 has 60% more power so how does 2.5 break a 3.3 drive train damn.

must've been a fluke.......I'm running an OS .18TM EB Mods Edition and I'm having no probs with anything and my truck is stock as far as axles, gears, etc. is concerned. Only changed out engine and electronics. Oh yea, i've got the 2.5 Maxx as well..not the "R" version...

Hey don't forget to check your slipper. If it's too tight you'll snap them shafts. Also the maxx has a high driveshaft angle, it makes for alot of stress on the U-joints.
