Since I sold my Warhead...been looking at other Monster Trucks. Mainly the Savage and the Revo. This Revo is listed at $250, but the guy said he'd give it to me for $200. It has a brand new 3.3 on it with @ 6 tanks on it...so barely broken in. He says it has been driven hard in the past, and the only thing wrong with it at the moment is it needs a Clutch Bell and a Clutch.

Comes RTR (minus RX) and with 2 sets of spare wheels, old tranny parts (he removed reverse), the Starter Wand (need the starter for the motor though), the original box and manuals, and some spare rockers and such. A brand new body that was painted.

I'm going to have him meet me tomorrow so I can see it in person, but does anyone see any reason I should avoid this one? Seems cheap compared to other Revos I've been looking at.

I have already bought 1 vehicle off this same guy though, so I have met him and he does seem like a good guy. I'm just not confident I would spot anything Revo specific wrong with it. The Warhead was a no brainer for me.

Let me know your expert opinions ;-)

I think it looks like a pretty good deal, And the revo looks great.:)

You get what you pay for! I was told by LHS and chat online that if your going to buy used expect to replace the motor, you don,t know how it was broke in or what kind of bashing its been through.I went with the new revo and it is definity worth the extra money.

99% true.some folks take great care of there stuff and you get a better then new truck but those people are anal and dont enjoy playing with there toys like the rest of us.

If the thing runs/drives good buy it. That's a great price. Looks well kept too.

Good deals do exist, I should know...

I will almost second that notion. A buddy of mine bought an LST from a guy on the net. The truck looked brand new and in all reality it was pretty much brand new. He got it and it wouldn't start, so he opened the engine up and it was all gummed up. Like the guy didn't take care of his engine at all in the short time he had the truck. Then the guy hadn't read anything on the radio system or anything like that and had the remote all screwed up, the servos off center, adapters all messed up, wouldn't shift correctly, and the one way bearing was jacked. So when you're buying used, buyer beware.

Woot! $180. This thing actually looks damn good in person. The skid plates and such are scratched up, but everything else looks pretty good on it. Motor is SUPER SUPER tight. Now I just need to snag a clutch bell and a clutch and I'm good to go. He even tossed in a JR RX and the stock radio.

He also told me he flipped the truck over the first time he gave it some decent throttle after break in. So now I'm gonna be a wuss with it for fear of trashing it! Is the 3.3 really THAT fast?

yes it is,I got an 2.5 on my Revo that runs very reach mixture and it does wheelies but not on demand,it pulls the truck with ease and I just can't wait to tune my engine properly for best performance and the 3.3 engine has nearly 60% better performance then 2.5 which makes it be extremely fast :whhooo:
wheelies on demand for sure if broken in nicely and in tune...
but BigBlock just blows everything away :p:

go for it,it's a great deal but my one was better, I paid £60 for my revo in like new condition,no scratches, new body, wheels n tires plus few spares and tools but there was few parts missed and total cost of parts needed was £30 so total cost just £90,now every penny that I have goes into hop-ups...

I bought it this afternoon actually. Already have the clutch parts on order from eBay and got an EZ Start with the bundle for $20 total. Clutch Bell bearings and all...

It was part of his auction so I figured why not. I may try it...I may not. Just adds weight! lol

I love my EZ start, the first thing though is I bonded all the EZ start wires together with a Heat Shrink Sleeve because the wire coating SuX, but with the heat shrink they are as tough as nails...

ez ezstart

I agree the ez start is nice to have and makes one handed starting a breeze with a controller in the other. The wires have a very soft flexible coating, that in most cases is great but going under the shock mounts can cut the coating and the blue wire gets a little beat up around the cooling head.

I had a lot of issues with my connectors falling off the motor terminals and eventually breaking, i ordered a new harness, and soldered mine on till it arrived.....I still have the soldered one in 3 months later. I found all my issues were in those terminal connectors and although soldering makes engine removal a bit more complicated, I thought it was worth the lack of hassel in the long run.
