I was just wandering does it have reverse?I have never seen one go in reverse.I mite go check the specs on it at tower hobbies.

If you're talking about the stock savage...nope, it doesn't. It's a $35 option. I'd suggest it if you're into bashing. It's a blessing to be able to reverse out of something instead of chasing after it. Some don't like it though since it adds weight.

The reason for not liking it has more to do with the drain on the power of the drive train and engine than any additional weight.

I have reverse on my T-Maxx and no reverse on my Savage. While convenient, I have only been in a position where it would have been good to have a couple of times. The Savage is a really big beast and can handle most anything except those brick walls.

The choice is yours. Spend the $35 if you feel you need to have reverse, but do not let the lack of reverse as a stock feature deter you from getting the Savage. You'll regret not getting it.

Yup, I got you on tape when it would have been convienient. Like when the truck ends up sitting on it's rear bumper and can't get traction. I have reverse and I got out of that a few times....

Also, reverse is cool for those bootlegger reverses while bashing...

Not trying to flame or start anything but have you ever taken apart the reverse module on the savage? I had to install a new gear and upon examination, in foward motion, all it really has is a shaft and one gear that spins on it and a bearing attached to the shaft. That's it for the forward part. It's only when it's in reverse that the other 2-3 gears come into play.

So really you're not going to see any drain in the drive train that would be even remotely significant. Maybe a .00001 mph loss. But you can always upgrade the bearing in the reverse module. The only real thing that I can see is weight.
