Do we have any track builders in the house?

I'm thinking about putting a track in at my house. Here is a VERY basic drawing. I'm bored here at work. When I get home, I'll take some measurements and make it to scale. Anyway, what do you think of my layout. The red is jumps with the one table top having a tunnel under it for the track to pass through. The blue is berms and the yellow is whoops/ breaking bumps.

I'm a motocrosser at heart and have never been to an R/C track, so if any of this looks goofy, let me know.

By the looks of your drawing, you ave an overpass. That can prove to be difficult on the driver because the car will be out of sight for a split second. Make it an intersection and that'll be "interesting."

Yeah, I figured the overpass would be pretty difficult to manuver. An intersection wouldn't get too interesteing for me though. I don't know anyone else in my area that has a car to race me.

Make it a jump then. Otherwise, it looks like it will be a fun track. BTW, how far are you from NYC? Once I get my buggy, I'd make the trip (as well as a few other members) to go have some fun.

the biggest issue about the out of sight problem is that it's not in an area where the driver has a good sense of where the car is going. If it were an overpass over a longer straight I think that would be ok, but since it's close to the corner the driver will have a very difficult time manuevering through that corner with speed and consistancy because of the sight issue. Other than that looks like an exciting layout!

I'm fixen to put one in i got 200 by 100ft area + so its gonna be f in huge.. i plan on puting a crossover in.. one way will be flat the other would jump over the track.. it will be very interesting 12ft lanes and plenty of jumps.. anyone in south east texas area halla ima need some help on this big ass thing!!!

make the jump/overpass a 4 way table top or a pyramid style jump......mid air crashes would rock

the object is not to cause wrecks during normal racing.. that would make our track marshals work overtime and prolly break the bank on replacement parts.. sounds fun though.. the wrecks will occure if you mess up and dont get a good jump off the "crossover-o-death".. mwwaahhh haa haa (evil laugh) maby one way short jump.. other way big jump.. that way they both jump but not at same height.. hell i could do three way.. one flat one mid jump one high jump.. (brain starts turning..) mmwwahhh haa haa hhaaaaaaa (really evil laugh)

NO there must be a pyramid of DOOM in your track....DOOM DOOM....[get's Beason to laugh evil style] DOOMJUMP JUMP OF DEATH AND DISMEMBERMENT.........AAAHAHAHAHAHA....

:devious: sawblades from the floor.. falling axes.. fire pit.. you know the usual.. oh and its mmwwaahhhh haa haa haa... get it right..

We ought to have timers in the threads to see how long it takes them to be deraild...lol,j/k

my friends and i r building to tracks one electric and one nitro.... the nitro ones going to be 110X100 or so
ill have pics up later

My friends and I are also buling a track. We it's sort of an oval and is going to be very cool. It's quite large, I don't know the measurements, he just bought some land and we chose a spot and made it large enough to see the R/c vehicles all around the track. It's pretty nice we'll have it done sunday because we have a skid loader coming to help build the house. I"ll have pictures up soon.
