on my old t-maxx it comes with the yellow coverings for the fuel line. do I need these? or are they there for a reson:confused:

They are there to keep the fuel line from laying directly against the hot head. I have run with and without them and have not noticed a difference one way or the other.

They are simply heat shields for your fuel lines. If your engine does not get hot enough to melt your fuel lines or overheat your fuel, then you do not need them.

then why did traxxas put them there if it is not needed

So people like you would ask questions...X

lol

Being as the fuel line WRAPS around the head in most cases it would be a safe bet to use them. You can buy them for about 2.50 for the pair. Especially when you hit a lean condition thats unforeseen. Could be a mess otherwise.

Then again, it is all choice.

I would say yes,

mainly because of the edges on the head are sharp and could cut the fuel tubing.

I relate this to the blue wire leading to the glow plug, my blue wire snuk it's way between the fins and cut the coating of the wire away.
