i have my 3.3 motor on my revo for about 2 years now i think i ran about 5 gallons on it...when i try to fire it up it runs but when i try to give it throttle it bogs and dies..i redid the HS/LS to factory and open up the motor if theres any binding or anything like that..the piston seems to go smooth and i can feel air sucking on the carb when i turn the piston so that means i still have good seal on the piston and sleeve..no leaks or anything..also lots of blue smoke when i fire it up..i did lower the high speed and still fires up but with a little smoke this time but when i open the throttle it bogs and dies aswell..i lower the LS just a bit but still..plugs are good using MC#8 been running on that for a while..my tank Oring broke so i just put silicon and let it dry and test the air pressure by blowing in it under water and no air leaks..my starter is full batts..and I'm running on 20%

do i need a new engine?

thanks:bow:

thats how my 2.5 acted when it was dead. but i knew mine was due any time, if you have took care of the mill and it still has good pinch, id look at all my fuel/pressure lines and maybe replace them and maybe check the orings on the needles in the carb. removing the carb and removing the needles and hitting it with some carb cleaner/compressed air and reasembling with new orings, could save you from shellin out for a new mill, but aint we all lookin for a reason to upgrade! lol

yeah thanks..

I'm looking to get a new motor that has a bit more kick than the 3.3 but also that wont shred my stock gears ..this is what i have as of now..
forward conversion with diff/rear break..ever thing is pretty much stock except streer servo hitec ..I'm looking for a good easy to tune basher motor nothing that cost too much..and that will fit my stock size headers...

any recommandations thanks:bow:

will a OFNA .26 wtih pull start be great choice aswell..if so what will i need to slap that on and get it running i assume i have to get new headers/pipes for that since my stock wont fit i think.

thanks

I was about to move this thread to the Electric forum.
What you're concerned about is the ENGINE, not a motor.

I'll change the title for you.

well maybe i dont need a new motor after all..i just realize that the bearing next to the fly wheel that is on the block broke and I'm missing like half of the bearings the center on the bearing it slef came off and the balls fell out but the big part of the bearing is still on the block..i can't seem to remove it ..its on there good..
any way to remove this with ease ?

thanks

yes a os tm .21 is better than 3.3 so is the os tm .18. both are great engines and easy to tune. a ofna .26 will strip gears and blow up diffs.

thanks for that info
I'm looking to get the OS .21 but read the last post i edit ..ill see if i can get it out and put new bearing see if that work i and get it back and running if not ill just have to get new engine..i have a feeling i can maybe still get like one or two more gallons on my 3.3

thanks

ok yes i have had this problem before two i can walk you though the steps to removal. 1. take a dremal with a diamond bit and slowly carve away at a little chunk of the bearing outer ring. once a little chunk is removed. Use a flat head a bend in the outer ring.

Another way that may work take everything off the engine seals, carb, piston, flywheel, cranks shaft, till all thats left is the crankcase and the 2 bearings. Then put it in the oven a 400-500 f for 30 min. Try pulling it out with a screw driver. This didn't work for me. works for some ppl.

The 2 bearings cost i think 35-45 dollers

ahh no luck ..engine is done for:doh: oh well...it was fun while it last

so weres a good place to buy a OS .21 for my revo...also do i need anything else with that motor for it to work..i want to order every thing i need in one shipment..

what plugs do you guys recommand for this OS .21 engine i dont race i bash around but nothing hardcore bashing..

for fuel whats best?I've been using blue thunder20% i have about quarter of a gallon left and I've had that fule for about 6 to 7 months now.. will it be good idea to use that fule to break in that OS.21..?

thanks:bow:

i would get new fuel for the break in just to be safe. Um for the os tm.21 i think its a direct drop in nothing needed but i would look a new pipe for performance bc unno how good the stock will work with it.

i have stock and tsais dual exhaust ..is tsais a good choice for this OS .21
