Does everyone elses cars yet realy dirty after running them, I hav to take the mill out and wipe down the whole car after running my on roader! is this a problem or does everyone have this problem, The dirt is mainly because of the exhaust and oil, maybe I have a worn exhaust gasket or a crack in the mill?

Can anyone help? :help:

Enjoying my car now just starting to appreciate it :breakdown

That's normal. To keep the dirt minimal, wipe it down after each time u run it.

Thats just part of running nitro. Mine gets dirty too. Just have fun and dont worry about it.

Just keep a spray bottle filled with denatured alocohol to clean the majority of the car. I use Nitro clean to clean the head of the mill after its cooled down. The nitro clean blast away all of the dirt on the cooling head so when you are ready to apply some ARO the head is nice and clean.

might try spraying it down with wd-40 before you run it like the night before wd-40 helps keep the dust from adhearing to the surfaces on your ride

WD-40 ~I would do that so long as I had a compressor to blow off excess.

I run a MAXX so i know about the dirt dont worry about just amke sure you eventually clean it after it gets real dirty after a few weeks ill completely tear it down and clean it then wait for it to get grubby again.

I found that WD40 causes dust to stick to it causing more of a problem with what would normally be a mild dust problem for the onroad car.

I use a soft 2 or 3 inch paint brush and just brush the dust off. Dry dust is easier than wet dust which is what the WD 40 caused.

just my .02

Saggy

i have heard a few things about WD- 40 which arnt so positive.
1- breaks down the mellecular compound of the plastic, causing them to become fragil, easy to break.
2- attracts dirt and dust

i would just stick with a can of Nitro Cleaner after i good bash and my t-maxx gets a good amount of mud on it.

Dont forget to lube ur bearings because u dont want them to lock up.

WD-40 or any oil applied to the ride (no matter how finely applied) will actually help the dust adhere to the ride. It might repel water, but it attracts dirt like a freaking magnet.

I coat my buggy with liberal amounts of WD-40 and let it air dry overnight. The next day the pieces look brand new. Yeah, the dust does stick a little easier but it cleans off just as easy. The link below is to the WD-40 website and the only plastic they caution using it on is polycarbonate (lexan) and
clear polystyrene (plastic drinking cups).

I run a lot on loose dirt and some mud, so I decided to invest on a good air compressor, not very big, in fact it's portable enough that I can bring it to the indoor tracks I go to if I want to. It costed me $110.00, but it works great! I always make it a point to blow the dirt off after a bashing day, especially the carb area and air cleaner. I also use WD-40 from time to time to get some dirt off from under difficult to reach areas.

Something that I do, mainly because I read about it somewhere, is wipe down the body with baby wipes. It's good to get the nitro residue and other gunk off the car while you're away from home. If it can clean a baby of some nasty stuff, it'll clean your car.

Don't do this as an alternative to completely cleaning your car. It's just a way to clean you're car so it doesn't soil your 1:1 car on the way home.

Non chlorinated brake cleaner. You can also get the no-flammable kind.
No chlorinated will not turn your plastic white, and works very well.

.99 to $1.59 a can at my local dept store. Don't go to a 1/1 parts house they charge $5.00 or more per can.

 getting it dirty is all part of the fun....cleaning it might not be. But its best to keep it clean, so it stays new longer. Its great to use an air compressor, this ill spray off alot of dirt. give it a try!

I generally just leave my stuff as dirty as it was when I last played with it.

man carnage your talkin on road!!! most of us run off and i live in new mexico where it is as dry and hot as hell. when i bring in my truck from a good bash it is covered!! it blows off easily cause its just powder dust but it still covers the truck and makes my racing red body turn new mexico brown lol. it sucks where the exaust stinger comes out especialy on a t-maxx that damn back right tire is just covered!!

I tear my rc's apart every once in a while. I do it to clean them and also check for worn or broken parts. Often I am upgrading parts aswell. As for after bashing, I just use and air compressor. It doesn't get everything off, but it gets a lot of it off.
