hey guys
looking for info on digital servos, do i need special radio?

I currently have an Airtronics M8, and have found info for making mods with a 'Spektrum Micro Receiver' but don't know enough about the new technology to know how the digital servos work and havent seen any articles that explain what is needed.

Please help an oldtimer with the technobabble

Now I am not sure about how the mod works for the micro reciever, but I can tell you that you do not need a special radio to run digital servos. The only think I would recomend you doing if you have not done so already, is upgrade to a rechargeable battery pack. The digital servos use alot of juice I am running an Orion 1600 pack.

just don't waste a digital servo on an AM radio is the only radoi issue I can think of.......definately get a Rx Batt pack too.......If you get the Micro you can't use any telemetry modules down the road......I'd just use the normal size ones myself, they are still pretty small....

Digital servos are just more precise....do a search on setting them up....setting the EPA is very critical w/ digi servos.

Hey Plaid... this is the only problem I am still having... Trying to set up the EPA. I know how to do it on the radio, but am having a hard time knowing if I have set them up right. Any advice?

Tom

If you get Airtronics digi servos don't forget the reverse polarity! Make sure you read one of the 50 or so tags on the servo so you don't take $115 and flush it down the toilet like I did!

The spek mod to the airtronics radio has nothing to do with the reciever. I has to do with the trasmitter. It will look like this when done...
