Like it say's I am looking to spend 500 to 700$
I have no idea what I am looking for here.
Any help would be great...

Are you looking for an SLR or a pocket camera?
For the price you are looking at the worls is open.

Tell us more about what you expext to use it for.

SLR woud be what I am looking for..

I must add I will buy a used camara...At the right price

I would recommend the Canon Digi Rebel, you can find pretty good deals on the new XT at places like Costco or Sam's with rebates to get you around that $700 mark. You may be able to find the original digi reb in that price range. If you have a 35mm Canon the EF lenses are interchangeable between the film and digi as well as other accessories like flash, remotes, etc. You've seen some of my photo's taken with it. My wife does want to upgrade to the 30D now though, but she uses the hell out of the camera and is entering more and more contests and such. We've taken over 40,000 pics with ours in 1 1/2 years.

I'm with Jet. I was gonna say the Canon Rebel too. Killer camera's.

I'll second that. I'm very happy with my Canon Rebel, or EOS 300D as it's called in Europe.

I went back and forth on the sony DSC F828 and the rebel EOS...I found a good deal on the sony and took it....now I realize I should have spent the extra cash and got exactly what I wanted, the rebel.....

I like the Rebel and have been using it for several years. I recently upgraded from the 6x mp to the 8x. Lenses are the issue here. It comes stock with the 18-55. Its a good lens to get going with but you will most likely want more. If you have access to Canon lenses get the Canon, if you have access to the Nikon lenses take a good look at getting that one. There are differences but for the non professional they will be hard to see.

You will find great deals on a new Canon 6x mp due to the 8mp being the new boy in town. If you want to go with new its in your price range. Dont forget to add the price of a 1, 2, or 4 gig card into the tag. (1 Gig gig fine)

Side note:
A friend just got a new digi 35mp back, camera and 1 lens.... Tag 42K

I have a digital rebel xt and I love it. I bought a Quantaray 70-300 for outdoor shots and it suits my needs just fine. 90% of the photo's posted by me are from a rebel XT. The other 10% are from a G6. I would highly recommend Canon.

On the rebel's 1gig card how many pic's can it hold? on the highest quality setting.

Never mind I found it..
Shoot approximately 310 of the highest-resolution, sharpest, jpeg pictures your camera is capable of taking.
For web use or e-mailing photos at a lower resolution, you'll get approximately 1090 pictures.
Never lose out on that special photo opportunity just because your original memory card

With the original rebel (6.3mp) in high quality it will hold roughly 375 pictures. Less if you shoot in RAW. The pics in high quality are about 2.5MB give or take.

My wife just bought the exact same camera before we went to Darlington. Would you care to see some pics before you buy? I got some shots from both races as well as a bunch of r/c pics from yesterday. However, they are all taken with a Tamron 300mm lens attached.
