Hey Today I was bashing my savage and pulling off a donut and the next thing you know, its front wheel drive. so I stoped it and looked. The back wheel would spin freely but the second I spun both wheel foward it was tought to spin and felt like it was crunching so I thought it was the diffs. when to the lhs and got the parts, come home and it was fine no teeth missing. what is the problem the front is ok please tell. The spur and clutch is also fine, and i know that the brake was not a part of this.
Please Help

Doug

jsut to make sure...did you check the gears inside the diff case?

make sure that your wheel hubs arent stripped , and make sure that your center dogbone is still in ... sounds stupid, but it happens

yes I did check the gears inside the case, I didnt think about the tires but I just checked and there ok, Should I put it together and hop it works?
I think I will try that tommorw

check the bevel gear and bevel pinion again. Look very close at the teeth and you may find that parts are chipped off. Those chips are probobly whats grinding. The same thing can happen to the spider gears in the diff. Also check the diff cup and make sure the spider gear shafts havent moved and notched the cup.

I found out what it was... It wasn't a diff at all. I have had my savage for allmost a year and havnt blown a diff, this is good right, OK now to what the problem was, it was a screw missing in the dogbone hub, and caused it to lock up but I wish i would of replaced the diiff outgears becasue when I come to a hard stop it clicks,

Thanks
Doug
