Differential Thrust Steering

I have two planes and a boat that turn R/L by changing the speed of their twin motors. Here's a DUMB THOUGHT ---> if you had either 2WD with TWO motors along ONE axle or 4WD with FOUR motors ( one in each wheel ) could you get steering by using microprocessor controlled ESCS to change the speed of one side of the vehicle relative to the other much like my planes and boat !

Yes, there are radios programmable for that kinda action. It's called tank steering I think. Obviously, it's for tanks too
