Hi everyone!

I have a few questions about the new T-Maxx. I have heard some people saying that they are not happy with the 3.3 engine. Now i know that Traxxas came out with the new T-Maxx 3.3 (4908) is that a different engine than what is in the 4909? Do you guys like the new model more than the older version or not? Also if you don't mind can you tell me some pros and cons to the engine and your expierences with it.

Thanks!

Well I can tell you that I really like the 4908 don't know much about the 4909 I assume they are the same engine. I like the 3.3 however it can be a bit of a pain to tune sometimes. I think the real difference between the 4908 and the 4909 is the 4908 has taller tires an extended chassis and no reverse.

Heres the deal from my point of view.......

The 4909 version and 4908 version do have different type 3.3's ..I found the 3.3 from the 4909 version to be a more cooler running and reliable tuning type over the 4908 model with IPS crankshaft....But that was my theory until I stuck the same type 3.3 that comes in the new 4908 version in a 4910 Gen1 T Maxx that weighs like 2lbs or more lighter ....... it screamed hard and didnt run as hot as it did in the heavier truck the engine came from plus its a dream to keep in tune now......The 4908 version is too heavy of a truck for the 3.3 TRX engine and should of came out with a .21 size engine for it the least...

The 3.3 with IPS from the 4908 version runs the best in the smaller 4910 version hands down due to its lightness and in my opinion should of only been offered in the on-road cars with a bigger better powerplant for the MT's.....It has ok power for the 4909 version but works way better with a twin 3.3 setup and the 4908 version I have has the right powerplant in it now with a Sirio.27Tx competition engine....
