what is the best way to tune the diffs to decrease understeer. lock up the rear diff to get the rear to spin more or lock up the front to get traction.

my son has trouble with his steering when he turns hard the front inside wheel lifts up and it just pushes thru the turns. could it be a suspension problem?

no, it's driving style. a lot of kids don't get that a little sometimes is better, as a result, they steer full blast all the time. if he doesn't realize that, you could simply turn down the sensitivity on the radio so it doesn't turn quite so sharply. I had to do that for myself aswell.

you can try heavier shock oil, stiffer springs, and lowering it a tad with the shock mounting positions. also can try diff locking grease from bad horsie. it is super thick and tacky and slows down the differential action making it act like a limited slip differential. still, no matter what you do driving habits are key.

A general rule of syspension= soften the arms that need more traction. stiffen the arms that need less traction.

also the fronts will never steer under power!

thanks for all the advice. as far as driving habits because of a car wreck he only has use of one of his arms but the biggest problem is that he is only 8. with all of that said he can still drive like crazy. he was showing off the other day doing power slides and riding on two wheels but he still has trouble with the front inside tire lifting when turning but i will give some of this a shot.

thicker shock oil and stiffer springs will def help with the inside tire lifting as well as body roll. i would try 50 wt in all the shocks and 4 stiffer springs(one on each corner) like rc raven's dual rate or maybe traxxas' progressive white spring. bad horsie's diff locking grease will help with under steer and traction on dirt and loose terrain but not so much on pavement.
