Hello sorry if this sounds stupid but I am a newbie at T-maxx. When I got the .15 maxx the front diff was blown and shortly after doing an engine swap to the 2.5R the rear diff blew out. I have been looking on the net and found the posi spool. But after reading some forums I have been debating on buying this. If anybody could let me know if this would be a great idea or not. I was going to put regular gears in front and posi in rear. If anybody could give me some part numbers for parts and or if anybody else has any different ideas. This might help I am a off road man ( grass yard, jumps) but occasionally like to do the speed run down the road.

If you are going to run it at all on the pavement a spool is a bad idea. The Maxx diffs are pretty good IF you shim them properly. I would recommend picking up some RRP hardened diff gears, and shim them properly over going with a spool.

Thanks I will check into that! Does it have a shim guide or just trial and error?

Would i be more appt to blow diffs if i am only running it in 2wd or does that not make a difference. Also does the braking ever effect stripping those gears out?
