Does anybody know if any other center difs and mountings would fit this same hole pattern. This is from a Duratrax Axis that I turned into a Maxx Hybird. Its just w/ the Axis diff, its impossible to find any other different size spur gears. Maybe a Ofna, or a GS Storm? Anyone who might know pls. help. Thanks.

The sizes you depicted in you post for a Storm are 13/16" and
1 9/16" respectively. If the bearings are the same type/size then I would think you could use, say a Storm center diff but you would have to drill new holes in the chassis to accept the longer diff and that will in turn off-set everything else in line with the drivetrain, i.e., a longer diff would mean a shorter drive shaft. Might be too much to take on, with all the modified pieces and the concerns over alignment.

Sorry to not be helpful here but the pics really do rock. I never thought of that as a graphic showing. Now you'll get a nickel every time I do this from using your patent.

I'm having a simular delima...........starting to build a Mutant Maxx and I'm wanting to change the center diff to something with a larger gear. Mutants come with a GS Storm center from Hardcore with a stock 46, (I belive it's 46) tooth spur. HCR does have a 49 and 55 tooth spur that fits the Storm's center diff. Yesterday I stopped by the lhs and held the Ofna gear up to the GS Sorms bolt patern and they appear to match ( I don't have an Ofna complete center assembly to compare it to ). Ofna does make a 65 tooth. Then again you may have an alignment issue and some chassis mods to do if you make the alterations. Let us know how it goes and I'll do the same if I can figure mine out.

By the way, are you trying to gear for power or speed?

I want to see this Maxx Hybird show some more pics this sounds Interesting. Fill me in on the the details.

I owe you guys some pics of my t maxx after the last round of upgrades and I'll take some pics of my current project. You can see the mutant maxx on Hadcore Racings website. Mine's just a roller with the proline suspension at this point and I picked up an Ofna / Picco .26 to test it with. Probably a month or so away from completion. I'm still wanting ideas about the gearing if anyone has some.............

The pics are in my gallery
