does anyone know were i can find a how to article on shimming diffs because I'm not the greatest shimmerer

i know this has nothing to do w/the savage, but i have a question. do you have to shim the diffs? i did the 4 gear mod in the savage, and then i see enveryone talking about shimming. i've seen it on eddy's storm and many other people's tmaxx, but everything i've read on the savage, nobody ever says anything about shimming. what exactly does it do?

It takes unwanted play out of the gears. Maintains a good mesh all the time. The torque on those gears without a good mesh is what mostly contributes to blown diffs. Shimming, helps prevent it.

hpiracer I don't know of any good articles on diff shimming, but here is the part number for the shims for the t maxx diffs.
