Hi Men, It got worm enough to get out and do some Bashing today. I started out with the HS needle at 4 turns out and slowly started leaning it out. The problem I am having is when you go WOT and let off the truck dies. It will not restart right away and to me it acts like its flooded. I leaned it down to 2 1/2 turns and it still did it. I had a full tank of fuel, the temps at 200-210 and have a trail of smoke. The engine dies if I pinch the fuel line off at idle in 2-3 sec. so I think I have the low speed close. What do you normally have the HS needle set at? As always any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

It really depends on the area you live in as far as the needle settings. I believe mine are around 2 1/2 - 3 turns out on the HSN. It sounds like your LSN is set correctly so that's prob not your problem, I would check and make sure your carb isn't closing off after you let off the throttle. You may need to adjust your throttle return spring a little. Take your air filter off and turn your Radio and car on and pull the trigger as you would for WOT then let go, if your carb closes all the way for even a split second that is most likely your issue. I would start there and hopefully this corrects your issue.

Ok hear is what I found. I set the closed throttle gap to 1mm & fired it up. It wanted to take off, running way to fast. I spayed a little carb spray around the base of the engine and it died, fired it up again, sprayed again and it died. So I got an air leak. I pulled the motor and found the upper carb seal sticking out and 1 of the bolts that hold the starter back plate on broken. The head was still on but as soon as I put the wrench on it the head came off. Being that I got this used and not knowing how much it has been run I checked it over good. The only other thing that I found is the started shaft seamed to have some play in the back plate bearing. I found a seal kit for $5.60 & a starter shaft and back plate for $9.75 on E-bay. With the motor down, I installed my new Ofna gas tank. Does anyone have a good way to mount the On/Off switch for the servo battery?
