Today I went to my local hobby shop to buy a pinion wrench for my mini-t and I saw a used savage that looked brand new! I had brought my mini-t into the shop with me along with all my spare parts and stuff because some guy wanted to get some mini-t parts and I was going to sell them. Well the owner/operater of the hobbie shop and I talked and I ended up trading my mini-t for a savage. Did I get screwed? My mini-t had the following stuff:
Integy all aluminum kit
Mamba 8k
Losi oil shock
MIP ball diff
GPM titanium CVDS
about 25 tires and rims (6 monsters, the rest regular)
7 cell GP1100 matched pack
Airtronics servo
Dual disk slipper
and all the kinds of other small stuff
plus another mini-t with integy shock, hs-55 servo, and other small stuff
2 extra ball diffs, bunch of pinions(I didnt have allen wrench for them, bunch of a-arms, 8 cell cheepo battery, and some other small stuff.

The savage is stock and has a .21 engine in it. It cam RTR just needed gas and a glow plug initor. So what do you guys think who got the better end of the deal? My mini-t had about $400 into it and the parts and stuff were about $200. These are retial prices not used values.

Depends I guess. I myself would rather have a Savage than a Mini T, but then again the dollars ya got into it might say he got the better deal. What are you gonna be happy with? Id say ya got more screwed buying a Honda 250X..Why so small man? 250?

I'm just messin with ya.. Its all good.

Sounds like a good deal to me...

Andy that was funny Bro! :spit:

My honda crf250x rips! If you knew a thing about motorcycles then you would know that it is the best woods bike made! It has plenty of power for hills and not so much power that it will tire you out on a long ride. I have placed first at 2 harescrambles and 1st at 3 enduros on it.... In the B class so its definately a good bike!

That 250 wouldn't pull my fat ass up a hill that quick.
I'd need a 1000.
J/K

Screwed is a matter of opinion that I can't give.
If your happy with it, then you got the better deal.
If your savage has a stock 21, then it's the older model.
Same one I had. Great truck.

I thought the same thing until I saw it was a crf LOL I was thinking the old 3 wheeler..Maybe because I used to have a 350x 3 wheeler.

As for the trade, I think you made a good deal. A mini t isn't worth much as a used rc, so even though it's the 1st generation Savage it's a good deal in my book

is the savage first generation a good truck? I really dont know poop about nitro stuff but I know alot about electrics....(especialy 1/18th scale!)

If ya knew about 1/18 why did ya get a mini-t?

:jk:

I got one. It's fun, but there is nothing like the smell of nitro.
Savage is a great truck. Takes a bit to get used to working on it. After its apart a couple of times the tvp's are not so bad.

I was thinking a 3 wheeler too, but a 4 stroke 250 is still kinda small. Not dissin on ya, its a nice bike just small. Before My Rm, I had a Crf450r.. Now THAT flew.. But dont get a lip on you. You dont know what I do and do not know, so settle down.

so my 1970 honda ct70 with a 72cc engine is a microbe? I can get to 20mph at wot with a four speed, though its only got two gears :p:

I guess it all depends on which your going to find more enjoyable. Go out and bash it, if you hate it or feel cheated then come back and B*tch

I loved my mini-t and it was my favorite mini truck. Now my favorite mini truck is the mini LST. I finished 1st at a hobby shop about 2 hours from my house. I beat about 5 18ts, 3 spiders. (total after heats and main)

A. I think you came out of the deal better than when you went in. Nothing beats nitro.
B. So Andy, because I have a Honda XR 250r I have a weak bike? You tryin' to start something? Huh? You think I'm funny? Do I amuse you? Meet me by the monkey bars after school! I know you are, but what am I? Bet my Dad could beat-up your Dad! j/k!

lol.. I guess it depends on what your doing with it. But a 4 stroker 250 is equivilent to a 125 2 stroker, which is kinda a middle of the road sized bike.. I outgrew my 125 in a summer, but I was riding track and such. But for trails a 250 4 stroker would have been alright or even as a enduro.

and to answer your questions
Do ya have a weak bike? nah, its whatever suits your riding need.
Am I trying to start something? Yeah what of it G dog?
Do I think your funny? Funny Lookin!!! haha
And now way your dad could beat up mine.. Hes like Hulk Hogan!! lol

Just got back in from my first drive with the savage! I had to go to the hobby shop and buy a glow plug with charger and a new glow plug to get it running. I drove it up and down the paved lane I live on. It rips! My mini-t was a lil faster but this thing would crush the mini-t!!!!!! I have an a stip of grass and a lil speed bump thing seperates the grass from the paved lane and I was launching off the lil bump! My neighboors were probably pist becuase this thing is pretty loud!
I had a few small problems though and maybe you guys can help me get them taken care of. First off the truck moves when the throttle on the control is in neutral and I have adjusted the T. trim a far as it will go and it still moves. Also the breaks are not that strong, is there any way to make them stronger? Secondly two or three times the engine would rev but the truck wouldnt move! I would run and grab it then set it back down and it would work again...... Also when I started it the first 4 times it died and then like 4 more times it would stay running only if I left the glow ingnitor in it. So I left the glow ignitor on it and drove it for a short loop and then took out the glow ignitor and it ran until it ran out of fuel.

If your car is dying after ya remove the glow ignitor, good chance that your glow plug is dead. Try putting in a new glowplug and see if that helps.
