just got my Diablo .28 but couldn't fire her up. it sounds like it want to start but it doesn't. I tryed to rich more the HSN but didn't work. also the pullstart is to tight and needs a lot of power to be pulled. hurt my fingers and cut my hand trying to pull it for about half an hour. Any help on what i need to do.

Is this mill new?? if so the factory setting are all ready set rich.. never richen more it will only make it harder to start.. First thing to do is take a hair dryer and hold it on the head for 10 to 15 miniuts.. and loosen the glow plug just a little and try to start it when it is hot when it starts tighen the glow plug ..

Along with Zandors advice, you may want to expel the excess gas in the engine. What I do:

Make sure the surface around the the glow plug is clean. Remove the glow plug .

Turn the truck upside down.

Pinch the fuel line going to the carb and give the pullstart a few tugs. You may see some fuel come out. As Zandor said it is more than likely running rich from pre set needles. Once you have it done reverse the steps and re start the engine. MAke sure you check the plug that it is glowing bright orange.

Prime the engine. Glow ignitor not attached, Put your finger over the stinger of the exhaust and pull on the pullstart. watch the same line you piched. Pull on the pullstart just till fuel reaches the carb. Attach the ignitor and pull again. Leave the ignitor on for about 20 seconds. give the engine a few quick low throttle bursts of gas just to clear the old fuel out.

so i have to reset the needles back as they was(Factory Settings). I will try that hair dryer tomorrow because its raining today. hopefully will not rain tomorrow. Thanks guys i'm goint to try everything you guys say. will let you guys know how it goes tomorrow. THANKS FOR THE HELP. :thankyou:

id also add to turn your throttle trim on your radio up a little like 10 -20% when starting

good luck

hey pm a guy called rctommy on this site - he bought the Savage I had with the Diablo .28 and he had the same problems and now it is running real well. 1/4 throttle wheelies on 4th tank!! He put the stock (.25) HPI RotoStart Backplate on it so he could use roto start after breaking the pull start several times and have some nice blisters.

had no luck with the weather. i finally fire her up for about 4 seconds and then turns off agian. couldn't fire her up any more than it started to rain. so i will try tomorrow any feedback on what i need to do

hey

hey lean the engine to get it started then fatten high speed needle back up to break in.That engine has a lot of compression you might wanna get hpi roto start to ease the pain(i also had blisters)Bruce at www.rushrc.com can help ya out with that.I'm still breaking mine in but wow what power!Cleaning out the cylinder is a must also i must note!pm me if ya got any more questions

i have the back plate from the s-25 and will buy the soto start because the last one i had it burn or something happen to it. i started her up today 3 times but its sounds like its going to turn of and i throtle it i little bit but it turns of. after that i leaned the HSN but then it didn't want to start until i riched the HSN agian. I riched it more but it didn't want to start and the pullstarter got a little harder. also i just noticed another problem when i throtle it turn off the the throttlewont open all the way and when i brake it it wont go back a cm. i looks like the servo got stuck, when it returns to its position it suppose to be i wont even go back not even 1cm. anyone knows what this might be and does anyone knows about a brake and throttle linkage upgrade.
