Hey guys.. I'm thinking about upgrading my PC Desktop speakers. First of all because they are getting kind of raspy when its really loud (too much metal), and I want better quality speakers. Right now I have the Dell XPS 400 speakers w/sub, and they are alright, but I could definitely use a better setup. I'm only looking at spending around $100, but less is ok too ;) I'm looking for something that might be able to mount to the wall (I'm kind of enclosed with 2 walls 90*) and have lots of power with good quality. I saw some but i dont think they would mount to my sub that i have right now. Am I better off just getting a whole new setup with the sub? I know there are some audio people here! Thanks in advance.

i run a logitec surround sound setup. 4 satellite speakers, a center, and a sub. it plays pretty well. i think it was about 80 at best buy.

you best bet would be to get a good stereo and run the line out to the stereo.

good speakers aren't cheep,

I've been using the Creative 560 set. Paid around $45 for my set on ebay, direct from Creative. It includes a wood-encased sub, and the sound is great. The only downside is that the set doesn't have a headphone jack on it.

i run Logitech Z3 speakers, wow great sound for the buck IMO

2 speakers and a sub

I have seen some of the lower end creative speakers, and they are pretty nice. Around $100 should get some decent speakers. I personally have the Creative/Gigaworks S750 (7.1 surround sound) setup and I love it! Goes louder than a rock concert, and never gets raspy or distorted.
