I was wondering you guys opinion on the Spur gear topic

I have all three and I was wondering what would be the best for a racing t-maxx.

RRP Steel
Dynamite Delrin
Stock

I can't say, just want to ask if the Delrin gear is some sort of carbon fiber gear or something? I personally have never heard of it, so it's more curiosity than anything.

Delrin is a plastic compound. It’s as tough as it gets for gears and well suited.
Metal or delrin????
Depends on your need. Metal is heavier and offers more moving mass then the lighter Delrin. It’s a tuning option.

I say stock, Just because a metal spur is expensive, you need a hardend CB, and if somthing happens you will tear up your tranny gears. Delrin is a good choice just not sure of price. I have heard thay can be a little pricey and the stock spur is cheap and gets the job done, You need a weak link in your drivetrain and the $3 spur is the perfect place. Especially with a Maxx. just my :2cents:

I think delrin is a high lube plastic. It just feel slippery so it doesn't wear like typical plastic.

I preffered delrin or stock, but I only used Kimbrough's delrin spurs. I never tried dynamites.

I tend to screw up spur gears while racing. I just was wondering if the Delrin is comparable to the steel spur in terms of durability.

I'd prefer to run the delrin one due to the weight factor regarding racing, but I like the security of not having to worry about the steel spur gear.

I also have the hardened clutch bell so that's not a problem.

Well I used the old plastic ones and everytime i flipped the old throttle linkage(old 1.5 version) would bend and chew the spur gear..Then about 4 years ago I went to a RRP dual slipper setup..I've had the same one ever since. No racing just bashing..

used to strip both standard and delrin spurs so put rrp steel one on and after finding out that traxxas's idea of hardened clutch bell wasn't actually that hard the steel spur's going strong and weighs not that much more, running standard engine on mega light truck and it feels just as fast as normal
