The Passion of The Christ shows and depicts the suffering of Jesus for us. Consider each blow, each wound as a sin He is carrying. AS A CHRISTIAN, I don't take offense to the movie. It's a person's view of what happened, yes, but it's also not all "buttered" up to be politically correct or glorified. The crucifiction of a person was a brutal and demoralizing death sentence in those days. The fact that it was done in Aramaic with english subtitles also shows how much research was done, both biblically and in the anthropology department.
Every person that has seen this movie has taken something from it. More good than bad. When you saw it,if you did, what was the general reaction of the crowd? ... silence and some tears. More people have looked within their hearts, and caused a resurgence of rededication of their Christian walk and relationship with God. Be forewarned of the blood and severity of the film, but with each sympathetic pain and cringe you feel, it can't compare to the suffering that Christ did for us.
Yes, there are points of antisemetism, but this film was never meant to be politically correct, so someone is going to be offended if they are not Christian. The movie was a financial blockbuster but if there is a sequel it would be a blockbuster with the amounts of saved souls since the only way to make a sequel would be to emphasize and call it "The Resurection."
