I was just told by a representative of Aceharewarehobbies that there has been a problem with the way the differential cases were injection molded in the Savage. As a result, causes the gears itself to fail, twist and whatever. This may be the reason for the lack of differential gears across the world and may explain the problems that everyone are having...Has anyone else heard of this?

I haven't even ran my Savage yet and really don't know if I want to now. This is disappointing......:marshall:

I put the HPI duel disk break set on my savage and the second time I hit the break it striped out the frount diff. Hpi wants the whole diff back and they will replace it..

never had a problem, you must have to have bad luck to have that happen!

It must be something in these new Savages. My Savage 21 from the original run has had no diff problems yet. I run a decent engine (Ofna Hyper 21 8-Port) and some huge tires (IMEX JumboMaxx all the way around) with no real mods to the drive train except replacing dogbones with CVDs.

I was thinking it might be newer editions because like I said earlier I have ghad zero diff problems and I put it through hell when I got it this time last year.

i got a savage ss and just did the 4 spider mod on the rear. the original pin had dug into the case. couldn't get back to the hobby shop so i just put it back together till i can make it there for new cases. it is not worth the hassel of calling hpi for them to replace it.
