We have 12 indian casinos within an hour of my house and several offer some free play for your birthday. Yesterday I went casino hopping for my birthday and had some decent luck. Now it's almost time for new rig for Racer!

I've had the strong itch for nitro short course truck for a while now. I have enough now for a new Slayer but I'm little short for an SC8 new but I have seen used in the range of what I have. I really prefer the SC8 but the itch to buy is strong! I'm not good at saving for long time :hehe:

So my options:
1: NIB Slayer
2: Used SC8
3: Hide the wallet and save for a new SC8
4: Am I missing another option?

So what do you all think here and why?
 
Hide the wallet. I can see from your responses in my JRX thread that you're itchin' to build a kit. I know saving cash is tough but a kit build is a lot of fun, especially for a wrench guy like yourself. Oh.. is the SC8 a RTR? Nevermind, I'm sure it is now that I think of it. At any rate, I think you should still hide the wallet. Everytime I've gone the route of saving a little cash and not get what I have my heart set on I end up dissapointed and frustrated with myself. Anymore, I don't bother with trivial crap like that. If you REALLY want an SC8, get an SC8. New is great but I would only buy a used nitro from somebody I had complete trust in.

That's the route I'm really trying to go,but it's hard for me. I'm a poor boy and spending nearly $600 on a rig is hard for me to swallow. I almost bought a used SC8 tonight on ebay for under $400. If only I were rich instead of good looking! :hehe:
 
I'm with Josh. Save up and get what you really want.

You should be able to get a brand new SC8 for under $500.

Nobody ever notices here, it was Tuesday the 6th. I got the automated e-mail though :)

That wasn't automated, I personally go through and send out all the birthday emails, yeah, that's the ticket, I send those out :D. It was Rolex's job to start the birthday thread, so he is the one that dropped the ball. Happy birthday again Randy.

I will research more later, but right now here is what I came up with.

AMainHobbies $540 minus $25 off code gets you $515 plus shipping.

Tower Hobbies $560 plus $10 to become a Super Saver Member. Once a member you can use a $60 off coupon code which make your total cost $510 shipped. Super Saver members get free shipping on all order over $150.

So I can use the coupon code for a rebate after I have already purchased the truck? I thought it would have to go toward my next purchase.
 
Randy, wait it out buddy. I build all of my rigs one piece at a time. I end up with some nice ones that way too. Problem is after that much time and love goes in to one I am afraid to bash it too hard. Get the one you really want....you will be way happier in the end. The wait is worth it.

Thanks Rob! Too bad Tower is out of stock on the one I want. I was also at my lhs today. They can get me an SC8 for $517 but again,the one I want was out of stock. My fund sits $476 right now,but if they had the one I wanted I would have orderd anyway and put up with the hassle my wife would give me :yes:

I'm going to go through Tower. I have bought the club membership and as soon as it's active I'll be odering the truck. :celebrate:
