Would it be ok to deanodize the head on the .25, I dont mind the color, but every time I roll over the head looks worse and worse and I like silver better anyway

It won't hurt the functionality of the head if you remove the anodizing.

How do you plan on getting it off?

He plans on stripping the anodizing off by Leaning that mofo out to the point where the cooling head changes color! :jk:

I was going to use oven cleaner, but I recently saw in a mag I am not sure which one, that if you use Greased Lightning the cleaner, will also strip the ano and wont pit the metal no mater how long it is in. it just take about 40min.

Yeah that might melt a body or two, and fry a few PandS sets, you want to provide them I will tell you how it goes. :jk:

you should get a roll cage too if your concerned about your head. but your right the silver would look cooler. hpi has a thing for purple.

Tarant...u can take the anodizing off the head without any harm..

yes, use greased lighning..works like a champ

i did it to mine

Yep, greesed lightning is the poop. Stuff works awesome!

Which greased lightning product?

Greased lightning is better, oven cleaner wil eat the aluminum if you leave it on too long.

... and it's not too good on the skin.

That poop burned a small hole in my finger.

I think it is just Greased Lightning general cleaner.

I would like to get a Cage but I will be racing and I have Twisted Toys LCG TVP's. and a cage wont fit it.

I used Greased lightning on my Chassis and aluminum rims on my T-Maxx and it works awesome!!! It also work great for getting grape juice out of carpet lmao, My 2 yr old daughter spilled an entire cup on our living room carpet, and I sprayed it on there and soaked it up with a towel and the stain was gone. That stuff is nice to have around the house in general!

Be Sure That The Button Isn't On The Head When You Go To Take The Color Off, This May Mess Something Up

After you take the anod. off, will it be prone to rust or tarnishing???

Aluminum doesn't rust. It "stains" when left in the raw state.Polishing smoothes out the pores and makes it less prone. Aluminum will "dull" in luster. That's why I said to hit her with some metal polish to keep it up or spray it with clear laquer so you won't have to do that.

X on the clear laquer. The extreme heat of the motor will yellow it out..... then it would really look bad.

I'm not referring to the engine head. And high temp clear for engines can be used but mother's metal polish is best.
