Dead Box Fan...

Alright, not exactly RC related, but it does have a motor. I have a box fan and it died. Plain and simple. But I figure I could fix it. But I need to know what died. Is it the DGBF, or the speed unit? The little red lines on the speed unit are the thing that I need to know. Can I just take the unit out, and connect N to N and 1 to 2 (2 being speed setting 2)? The two corded side is where the wall plug is.

I was coming in here to tell you it's called 'Deadbox' But I see this is not what I thought it was. No idea man.
