Congratulations to Dale Earnhardt Jr., no one has a clue of how happy I am at the moment, WOOT!!!!!!!

Sorry for posting in this forum, could someone please move my post?

no offense but is nascar really that amusing? look i can turn left for 500 miles, give then are going like 160 but still

drummer,
I was a NASCAR fan for a long time. I don't watch it much anymore. But that's because my favorite sports revolve each year. One year it's baseball. The next is football. Or hockey. Or racing. And I used to think the same thing. Can't be that hard to go in a circle all that time. I used to wonder why drivers would work out. Strength train. Until about 4 years ago. I got to ride shotgun in a stock car at Lowe's Motor Speedway. I got to ride for 3 laps at speed. The driver said we blew the traps at about 160 on our laps. And I now have a newfound respect for them. Because when you're going that fast in a car, physics takes a really weird turn. When you hit the banking in the corners, your first though is "There's no way this car will turn". Then you realize that gravity and centifugal force is trying to squeeze you out the passenger window. And that's what it feels like. You feel the restraints and seat digging into you. No, it's more like your body is oozing around them. It's tough to breathe, and tough to turn your head. Remember, you have a 5 pound weight on your nogging that's trying to shoot out the window, too. By the end of 3 laps, I was out of breath and trembling. I can't imagine doing that for 4 hours...

NASCAR ROCKS!!! Earnhardt JR. is the man and proved it today!!! I couldnt be happier!!!!:duff:

:winnar: I share in the joy!!!! Earnhardt Jr. KICKS ASS!!!

8:flamer: 20

I am so friggin happy for JR. you have no idea how happy I am right now. He deserves the win. I am only sorry I missed it.

i know it takes a lot or work...i just does seem that amusing for the watcher, i know the driver is haveing a hell of a time staying on the track at 160

NASCAR RULES! Come on you know that Tony Stewart is the man. He let Little E win, lol. No even though Stewart is my favorite Earnhardt is the man too. I will tell ya this much, they work real good at restrictor plate tracks.

As I do like stock car racing, I'll always wonder if it's rigged. If someone gets slipped a slightly less restrictive restrictor plate, or they allow a certain car a different setting on their spoiler.
There have been sooooooo many coincidences with drivers winning at certain times in the Winston Cup.....just like Jr winning today, exactly 6 years after his father died, at the very same track, at the very same race, when the President of the United States is there watching.....

Yeah, and our engine give away was fixed too...:wedgie:

I shoot Nascar races for Speedway Illustrated, I have seen, in person, what these cars go through when they go through tech, no way any one cars spoiler is going to pass when it shouldn't. Especially since all the teams line up in a row with their crews watching as the officials with the templates check each and every car.

Congrats to Junior for winning a race that took his father 20 years to win, heres a few pics I took of him...

This thread reminds me of a line from Days of Thunder ... "There's nothing stock about a stock car!"

Congrats to Jr.

Personally, I believe Nascar should have set rules that say your body must meet this requirement...engine must take this amount of air...blah blah blah. Instead of having subjective rules catered to each team. With each team having different restrictions.

I'm very happy for JR. Hopefully he can win the championship this year.

Its obvious you know absolutely nothing about nascar. :nope:
You want to explain how there are different rules for different teams? "engine must take this amount of air..." what do you think a restrictor plate does, why do you think they are all required to use the same size carb? "your body must meet this requirement..." What do you think the body templates are for? All cars of the same make are required to meet the exact same specs as the next one, i.e. all fords MUST fit the template or they can not run, same with the Chevys and Pontiacs, and Dodges. How does nascar cater to any one team? Have you ever been in a nascar garage? tech area? media center? I have I have seen the great lengths gone to, to see all the cars are as equal as possible. When the #1 qualifier and the #42 qualifier are seperated by half a second, I would say the cars are pretty damn equal.
