Has any one used the Dace Mfg. X1CRT rear skid plate ? Do they do any thing for the truggie ? I go 2 of them from a friend new in the pack and I was just wondering if any one had any feed back on them, can I use it on the X1CR also ? Do you use the stock screws ? and shoud I use lock-tite ?

Put it on the CRT, just about everyone with a CRT runs a plate of some sort back there. The chassis wears fast and this will help ya prolong the life. It may be a clearance issue with the CR but give it a try.

PS - Dace makes good chit

Thanks for the info. I have seen a lot of CRT worn out in the rear end, and was just wondering if it would work on the CR. What about the lock-tite ? do you need it then screws go in to plastic ? or is that just over kill ? Thanks again.

No, usually loctite into plastic will have adverse effects. It reacts with some plastics but not all. If your screws don't tighten down you can try one of three things. 1) Super Glue of CA in the whole and then insert the screw. 2) Wrap teflon tape around the screw and insert it. 3) Brake off a tooth pick in the hole and install the screw. Usually the last one only really works with wood screws. With the Dace plate though, you will need longer screws I believe.
