Well it's a beautiful day up here in southern Ontario, Canada! And would be out buying myself a bike that's on sale at a box store, but I can't seem to get off the couch as I feel like a turd.

Don't buy at a box store! They only usually sell the second rate stuff there. Go to a reputable bike dealer. You'll spend less in the long run if you get it right the first time.

You sir are correct! I went today to check them out and iwas not impressed on the assembly of them. The bike I wanted would not shift properly through the gears, it would skip some and just not go into the front low gear. I rode bmx and don't want to have to deal with fixing gears right off the start.

Go to your local bike shop of you want to get a good bike. It is like a toy-grade rc vs a hobby-grade rc. If you don't want to mess with gears go to your Local bike shop and ask about a 'Single Speed'. I rode a singlespeed 29er before my current bike at it was awesome. The simplicity is great. Really not much to go wrong because there are no gears

Weather was great over the weekend. Jumped on the bike and went for a ride around the neighborhood, turned into a 30 mile ride. Felt good to be back on the bike!

That's sweet. To finish off the season last year, my dad and I did a 50miler. It was beautiful. Except for the fact that there was 40mph sustained headwinds the WHOLE time.... It felt good when we were done though. One of my favorite feelings is when you sit down after a long ride. :D

Is it just me or do drivers think that a bright red flashing light on the side of the road is a target? I swear that cars were aiming for me even though i was riding on the shoulder...

I figured they could laugh at the fat old guy riding the bike but nooooooo.

How wide is the shoulder, and how wide is the lane? I have to deal with a narrow road, with no real shoulder. Got sick of being buzzed like that, when I was hugging the fog line. I started riding well into the lane, and I get much safer passes, now.

My new bike, '72 or '74 centurion frame built up with modern day parts. It's a fixed gear or a track bike. Sooooo awesome :) although it did take my thumb with it about 2 weeks ago....

Fixed gear is sweet, congrats.

Not to pry but do you have plastic on the bottom of your couches because you have a male dog who like to pee on them? We had to do that for one of ours a long time ago, was easier than getting mad at him lol.

Plastics not tall enough lol.

I too am thinking about getting a single speed bike. Something to cruise around town with.
