My cross pin slides out. It had been installed and ran for a while until I noticed it had slid out (locking up the wheel by hitting the knuckle).

The other side is fine.

Should I put a tiny amt. of loctite on it? or what?

Are these MIP CVD's? If so, you need to see if you lost the set screw that goes into the coupling/ball end itself. This is what is supposed to hold that cross-pin in.

Yeah, I'm using MIP Shiny CVD's. The set screw is there, and hasn't backed out.

Anymore possible suggestions?

Thats insane. That should not happen. I'm at a loss. If that set screw is in, and tight and lok-tite has been applied, then there is no reason for that to back out.

When you tighten it, does it still just fall right out?

Here is a very easy tip. You take the pin out. Get your dremmel tool and make a very small notch in the center of the pin (something for the set screw to grab onto). Replace the pin. Tighten the grub/set screw until it engages that newly made notch, and you should be good to go. Make sure you use loctite.

thanks for the dremel tip. I'm fixing to go out and eat and I'll try to post later tonight what happens.

Hey Eddy, do you know if the Dynamite CVD covers will work? Slide them on over the axle end first. What do you think?

 bummer!

Guess Ill have to get some shrink tubing and give that a whirl. You guys got me all nerveous now!
