Has anyone ever tried to cut their tires for better cornering or traction? I know they do this on the full size monster trucks but has anyone tried it on thier Max? Is there a better pattern to cut the stock Max tires to? Any pictures would be helpful and any tools and tech info too!!

the ony reason the o it on real MT's is because of a wieght issue think after theyre done trimming them it takes off a few hundred pounds of rubber off on each tire

I have seen some who remove every other chevron from the stock T-Maxx tires. Makes them look very paddle like and reduces their weight.

The best tools for trimming your tires is an exacto knife and dremel. Take your time with the exacto knife, it is very easy to cut to deep and weaken the tire. Leave enough of the treadblock behind so you can use the dremel to sand it even with the surface of the tire. Be sure not to remove to much material from one place (again it can weaken the tire).

I’ve removed every other tread from stock maxx tires and they hold up well. Offroad traction is greatly increased, the downside is it greatly reduces on road performance. I have seen pics of tires that had different sections of all the treadblocks removed. One thing to keep in mind is you want to keep the pattern even all the way around so the tire will stay balanced.
